Yahya Peace Foundation hosted a wonderful evening in Rotterdam, NL. The event beautifully celebrated the history of Somali funky music 🎶, Somali arts, films, and traditions.

The presentation by Legend Ali Naji from London was truly inspiring, educational, and deeply enjoyable. The evening was further enriched with a delicious traditional Somali dinner and the incredible creativity of the Somali community.

Peace is the foundation of progress and unity — let us stand together and build a brighter future hand in hand.

Special thanks and appreciation to Ali Naji for his powerful contribution and for sharing his knowledge and experience with the community.

Last week in London, we hosted another memorable event as part of our continued collaboration with the Yahya Peace Foundation — an organization established in loving memory of the late Abdulkadir Yahye, a visionary champion for peace and education who was tragically assassinated in Mogadishu over two decades ago.

We were received with great warmth and generosity. The event was organized to a high standard, bringing together a diverse and engaged audience. Many attendees expressed their deep admiration for the foundation’s mission and values, with several choosing to join as members — a powerful gesture of solidarity and shared purpose.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who made this evening possible — from the dedicated organizers to our gracious hosts and all the inspiring individuals who joined us. Your unwavering support and cooperation are what make this journey so meaningful.

At the heart of the Yahya Peace Foundation are the young students whose lives are being transformed through access to education. This campaign is about more than just learning — it is about building a future grounded in hope, dignity, and lasting peace. Together, we are investing in a generation that will carry forward the legacy of knowledge and compassion.

In Memory of the Slain Hero of Peace: Abdulkadir Yahya (Yahya/Sharafle)

This year, 2025, marks twenty years since we were forced to say farewell to our beloved brother and hero, Abdulkadir Yahya, known to many as Yahya of Sharafle — “the Honorable.”

His tragic assassination left a deep and irreplaceable void. Yet, his vision, values, and voice continue to inspire those who knew him — and many who never met him but felt the impact of his courageous work for peace, justice, and humanity.

In honor of his legacy, we established the Yahya Peace Foundation — not just as a tribute, but as a mission to continue the noble path he walked. Yahya fearlessly worked to bring people together during one of the darkest chapters in our nation’s history. He advocated for reconciliation, minority rights, women’s empowerment, environmental protection, and independence from harmful external interference.

His commitment to truth and peace ultimately cost him his life.

But his dream lives on — in us.
And through the Yahya Peace Foundation, we continue to work toward a just, united, and peaceful Somalia.

Twenty years later, his message is more relevant than ever:
We, Somalis, can and must rise together — united in faith, dignity, and shared destiny.

We invite all who believe in peace and justice to stand with us.

Last night in Stockholm, we hosted a special event as part of our ongoing work with the Yahya Peace Foundation — an organization established in memory of the late Abdulkadir Yahye, a passionate advocate for peace and education who was tragically assassinated in Mogadishu over 20 years ago.

We were warmly received, and the event was carried out to a remarkable standard. Many attendees were inspired by the foundation’s mission and chose to become members, showing strong support for the cause.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who collaborated with us and played a significant role in organizing and delivering this event — your efforts and solidarity are deeply appreciated.
