Urban Key Harlesden

Urban Key Harlesden We are Urban Key London and for the last ten years now, we have called Harlesden home. As you’ve heard at this point, our specialty is family.

In our properties we have classes, give away donated food, explore our creativity, plan for ministries, make meals, host guests, watch movies, and everything in between. Though we’ve been in Harlesden for some time, our roots go all the way back to Argentina, where our leaders and their family were based for many years. They were called by the Lord to come to England and we couldn’t be more thankf

ul to be following them! Each YWAM base carries something different- a special flare and unique DNA. Here at Urban Key Harlesden, you can spend your morning devotions with Jesus, a hot cup of coffee, and our dog Simba by your side. You can enjoy special occasions with Argentinian asados (barbecues), afternoon English teas with home-made pastries, Swiss raclette, and the tastes of many more cultures!

A reminder that God’s voice is always worth waiting for. When impatience pulls hearts ahead of His timing, grace still meets every misstep. In the quiet, He offers direction; in the stillness, He gives clarity. May this season draw us into deeper trust, slower steps, and a renewed desire to follow the gentle leading of the One who knows all and is trustworthy 🤍

« Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?... » Isaiah 43:19

I was looking back through my journal and reading the different struggles I had and things I did that felt like a victory. Looking at them I was surprised at how small those victories look in comparison to where I’m at now. I used to struggle reading outloud— just reading one verse felt like the biggest victory, and at the time it was. But now I volunteer to read multiple verses, and read more often. Praying out loud was the most daunting thing, I used to dread when it was time to pray because I knew I would always be awkwardly silent. Now I’ve prayed out loud multiple times, both in one to one moments and in bigger groups. I still struggle with it, but in comparison to what it used to be I can see the vast difference between me now and me 3 months ago. Maybe this doesn’t sound like an exciting testimony, but for me it is. I think it shows just how much God can move in simple ways and how that can still affect the rest of my life.

Our little primary school faith club has become one of the sweetest parts of our week. These kids have such a genuine love for Jesus, and the way they boldly ask the deep, challenging questions shows a hunger to really understand who He is. It’s such a joy to walk alongside them as their faith grows week by week 🥹

Psalm 62 reminds a weary heart that hope isn’t fragile. There’s a Rock that doesn’t crack under pressure, a refuge that doesn’t fade and there’s always a steady God to hold onto no matter the season.

Here’s a testimony of Tatenda, one of our long term missionaries:

“Earlier this year I hit a point in one of my ministries where I felt like I was pouring so much in and not really seeing any results as well as dealing with deep personal loss. God reminded me of the passage “those who sow in tears will reap with shouts of joy” and I wrote it in my newsletter as a way of choosing to believe in God’s plans even when my circumstances didn’t feel like they matched up at all.
Recently I celebrated my 5 year anniversary as a missionary here in London. Leading up to the anniversary I asked God to surprise me with a gift as a reminder of his faithfulness to me.
I specifically asked for a ring, and didn’t mention it to anyone else. If God chose to use someone to bless me, it wouldn’t be because they’d heard about it from me. Some weeks passed, and one day in one of my ministries I had a long conversation with a Muslim woman where I was able to encourage her and really make her feel seen. Later on as I passed her by she stopped me and insisted on giving me a gold ring off her own hand.
In that moment I remembered what God had spoken to me about reaping with joy. It was so special that my anniversary gift from God came directly through a ministry that I’ve been sowing into even when there have been many challenges”

Here’s your reminder today that He fights for you & is on your side 🤍

“Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
