A big thank you once again to GAIL’s for generously providing BANG with more baked goods!

This time, our BANG interns enjoyed them throughout the day while completing their BANG training modules and
supporting the planning of the Great Giveaway.

It was a busy and creative day, with the team bringing everything together - made even better with some treats from GAIL’s along the way.

We’re grateful for the continued support from local businesses that contribute to the environment we create for young people to learn, collaborate and bring their ideas to life.

BANG welcomes Sai Kumar and Kimjal to the team.

Our two new interns bring enthusiasm and creativity to BANG, supporting our film and branding work and helping us tell engaging stories about our work with young people and communities.

Sai Kumar has a strong interest in film editing and visual effects, while Kimjal is passionate about branding and filmmaking.

Together, they will use their creative skills to showcase the impact of our work accurately.

We are excited to see their contributions to BANG’s projects.

BANG welcomes Rehan, Abhishek, and Sai Jyothi to the team.

Our three new interns are bringing their skills, interests, and perspectives to BANG, supporting our work across business development and finance while contributing to positive outcomes for young people and the communities we work alongside.

Rehan brings a strong interest in entrepreneurship, Abhishek combines his interest in finance with a love for film, and Jyothi brings curiosity and a willingness to explore new ideas. Together, they’ll be contributing to projects across the organisation while developing their own skills and experience.

During their first week, they’ve been getting to know one another through team activities and lunch-break conversations about culture, backgrounds, and where they come from. They’ve also begun training in BANG’s processes and systems, building the foundations they need to work effectively within the organisation.

We’re excited to see the ideas, energy, and contributions they bring to our ongoing and upcoming programmes.

Today, Abarna completed her Communications & Marketing Internship at BANG.

Over the last three months, she supported the delivery of Founders Lab, running graphic design workshops for 20 students.

She also worked with PIA Financial Group and Berkeley Group, supporting their digital marketing and communications by creating marketing materials for summer and autumn events.

At BANG, Abarna produced social media graphics, wrote copy for social media, and supported administrative tasks within the marketing department, helping us showcase the positive outcomes achieved with young people.

Throughout her internship, Abarna developed her confidence, interpersonal skills, and professionalism, preparing her for a future working with organisations that operate internationally.

Thank you Katie Sampford from Berkeley Group and Gary Moore and Emilia Spano from PIA Financial Group for providing opportunities for her to apply her skills to real world projects.

BANG Young Leaders catered for the Berkeley Biathlon at New Horizon Youth Centre in Euston.

They prepared Caribbean cuisine for over 50 people who took part in and supported the biathlon.

Through a series of enterprise and project planning workshops, the Young Leaders developed the menu and planned how they would prepare and serve delicious food to members of Berkeley Group and New Horizon Youth Centre.

On the day, they worked alongside New Horizon staff, with guidance from Thembi, BANG Facilitator, to help make the celebration a success.

Through the biathlon, Berkeley Group is raising funds for New Horizon Youth Centre and St Basils, supporting their work to reduce youth homelessness in London and the West Midlands.

This work is incredibly important to us. We believe every young person should have a safe place to call home and the opportunity to become independent. It also aligns with our BANG Homes initiative, which focuses on reducing young people's experiences of homelessness by providing the tools and resources they need to build independence through learning, education, and employment.

We look forward to continuing to build our relationship with Berkeley Group and working alongside New Horizon Youth Centre to create opportunities for young people.

Today, Lyvonne, Heritage Facilitator, and the team from BANG met with Peter from Groundwork, the UK’s leading environmental charity, to get ready for the upcoming launch of our BANG Grow project. 🌱

Super exciting plans are in the pipeline, and we can’t wait to announce more. Stay tuned!

On 21 August, four BANG Young Leaders attended the Berkeley Foundation’s St George’s Charity Football Tournament at Powerleague Shoreditch.

The event brought together Berkeley teams, charities and community organisations for a day of football and fundraising, with BANG also represented on the pitch.

For our Young Leaders, the tournament was an opportunity to experience community leadership beyond their usual activities, meet professionals from across Berkeley and connect with people from different organisations and backgrounds.

Experiences like this give young people opportunities to expand their networks, build confidence and raise their aspirations for work and life, while seeing first-hand what can be achieved when businesses, charities and communities work together.

Thank you to the Berkeley Foundation for supporting the BANG Young Leaders and creating opportunities for them to connect, participate and broaden their horizons.

Today’s session with Bang’s senior leaders focused on bringing their five-year vision boards to life. Over the past two sessions, the leaders have been developing a clear and inspiring vision for where they want to be over the next five years.

Today, each leader presented their vision board to the group, sharing their goals, aspirations, and how they envision Bang supporting them in turning those ambitions into reality.

This was followed by an inspiring group discussion, where leaders exchanged ideas, encouraged one another, and reflected on the importance of staying focused and committed to their vision.

It was a powerful opportunity for the leaders to learn from each other, build confidence, and motivate one another to keep pushing forward. 🤝

Most importantly, the session reinforced the importance of having a clear vision, supporting one another, and taking purposeful steps towards achieving their goals. 🚀

Earlier this month, BANG Young Leaders joined Berkeley Group and community organisations from across Southall for the Summer Fun Day at Parkside Yards.

The day brought together young people, children, families, residents, and local organisations for a day of activities, community engagement, and connection.

BANG Young Leaders played an active role throughout the event, welcoming residents, supporting registration, engaging local people through a community survey and helping to deliver activities for children, young people and families.

Working alongside the Berkeley Group team and local community organisations, they also supported the coordination and delivery of the day – putting their leadership skills into practice, taking ownership and helping to create a welcoming and inclusive experience for everyone who attended.

This video captures just some of the people, activities and moments that made the day special.

A huge thank you to Berkeley Group for continuing to create opportunities for BANG Young Leaders to develop their skills while making a positive contribution to the community, and to all of the community organisations that came together to make the Summer Fun Day possible.

It was brilliant to see so much of Southall’s community come together in one place. ❤️
