๐ŸŒโœจWe just wrapped up an intensive WAGGGS Programmes Champions Training in the Arab region. The training brought together global leaders to strengthen their skills and explore how WAGGGS programmes can be adapted and delivered in their own countries.

Our facilitators spent the week building the concrete skills needed to drive real-world transformation:

๐ŸŒฑ Explored WAGGGS programmes including Girl-led Action on Climate Change (GLACC), Surf Smart and Action on Body Confidence, designed to support girls and young women to take action on issues that matter to them.

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Practised interactive, participant-led facilitation to support meaningful learning and engagement.

๐Ÿ“Š Developed skills in monitoring, evaluation and learning to ensure that community initiatives are data-driven, measurable, and highly effective.

๐ŸŒ Creating custom adaptation frameworks so WAGGGS global badge programmes can meet the unique cultural and local needs of individual Member Organisations.

This is what our global Movement is about: sharing knowledge, building skills and making WAGGGS programmes accessible and relevant across different contexts.

We are looking forward to seeing these Champions take what theyโ€™ve learned back to their communities and turn it into action.

Where has volunteering taken you? ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’™

Volunteering can take us in all kinds of directions. Along the way, we learn from others, practise new skills, build connections and discover new possibilities.

And wherever your volunteering journey takes you, thank you for being part of it.

This , weโ€™re celebrating the many paths volunteers take across Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting, and everything they bring to our Movement.

Itโ€™s ! ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’š

This yearโ€™s theme puts the spotlight on the link between what we eat, what we throw away and the health of the communities we live in. And itโ€™s a connection young people are already exploring through the Plastic Tide Turners Challenge (PTTC).

From organising clean-ups and getting their communities involved, to finding ways to reduce waste and rethink how we use plastic, young people are turning what they learn into action. ๐ŸŒŠโ™ป๏ธ

But the work doesnโ€™t stop when the clean-up is over. Itโ€™s about building habits, starting conversations and helping more people think about what happens to the things we use and throw away.

Thatโ€™s how young people are contributing to more responsible consumption and , while helping create cleaner, healthier communities. ๐Ÿก๐Ÿ’š

The countdown to is on! โณ๐ŸŒ

What does it look like when young people take the lead on plastic pollution?

Through WAGGGSโ€™ Plastic Tide Turners Challenge (PTTC), young people are learning about the impact of plastic and waste, then turning what they learn into action in their schools, communities and everyday lives. ๐ŸŒŠ

That might mean organising a clean-up, getting others involved, finding creative ways to reduce waste, or simply starting a conversation that makes someone think twice about their choices.

Itโ€™s also about looking beyond the clean-up itself and thinking about the kind of communities we want to live in, contributing to SDG 11 and SDG 12 along the way. ๐Ÿกโ™ป๏ธ
Because change doesnโ€™t always start with a big idea. Sometimes it starts with one young person deciding to do something differently, and getting others to join in. ๐Ÿ’š

Did you know? The most powerful cleanup might be the one that prevents waste from being created in the first place.

Plastic pollution is shaped by the choices we make every day: what we buy, use, reuse and throw away. ๐Ÿ›๏ธ๐Ÿฅค

Through WAGGGSโ€™ Plastic Tide Turners Challenge, young people are learning to rethink those everyday choices and take action:
๐Ÿ™… Refuse what you donโ€™t need
๐Ÿ“‰ Reduce what you use
๐Ÿ”„ Reuse what you can
โ™ป๏ธ Recycle responsibly

Because a cleaner planet isnโ€™t just about picking up waste. Itโ€™s about creating less of it. ๐ŸŒฑ

Whatโ€™s one plastic habit you could change today? ๐Ÿ’ฌ๐Ÿ‘‡

When young people have the tools to understand inequality, they can find their voice and use it to create change. ๐ŸŒŸ

Today, we are spotlighting Melissa Forde from the Girl Guides Assoc. of Barbados and our GEB Youth Ambassador. ๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿพ

For Melissa, the Gender Equality Challenge Badge became a springboard for action. She brought conversations on gender equality, identity, and rights to two Guide units, reaching 28 girls aged 11โ€“16. ๐Ÿ‘ญ

During the 16 Days of Activism, she took that advocacy further, speaking about gender-based violence in digital spaces and eventually delivering a speech in Parliament, calling for stronger digital safety, literacy, and legal protections. ๐Ÿ›๏ธ

From learning, speaking up, and creating change, Melissa is showing what youth leadership can look like. And sheโ€™s not stopping there. She plans to build a youth-led GEB model and support more young people to become advocates for gender equality. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ
