Mid Argyll Pipe Band

A pipe band, made up almost fully of our learners, took the short ferry crossing over to the island of Easdale today to perform at the World Stone Skimming Championships

Not only did they perform for an audience made up of over 30 different nations to open the event, but they also got to take part in the competition too ahead of a second performance in the afternoon.

Well done to everyone, including those who were making their first public appearance in a pipe band!

🏆 Our 3rd place Grade 3 MSR at Cowal Highland Gathering 29 August 2026 🎶

That’s a wrap on the 2026 competition season! We had a great day at Cowal Highland Gathering coming away with a 3rd place in Grade 3 MSR and 6th place in Grade 4A MSR. The March down the street was brilliant fun as it always is, thank you to our lovely mascots Lily, Lucy, Kenzi and Maisy for leading us.
A huge thank you to West Coast Motors for getting us to all our competitions all summer, to Foundation Scotland for grant funding to cover our transport costs.
We have one more exciting trip coming up, to Lucerne, Switzerland where we will be performing at the World Band Festival Luzern on 26-27 September!

Our Grade 4A MSR in the heats at the World Pipe Band Championships 2026 15th August 2026. A great performance to finish off the major competitions this season, congratulations to all the band members and especially to Pipe Major Alasdair Maclean.
