This weekend some of our Explorers were out on expeditions again! This time it was for qualifying and practice Silver Duke of Edinburgh expeditions. From sunny skies to continuous rain the weather was up and down but our Explorer’s kept going. We’re all so proud of them and looking forward to see what they do next! Thanks to Richard Fish and Sarah Griffin for making sure it all goes smoothly, from a distance! Here’s a few pictures from the trip:

So very worthy of this award!!

I am sure you will all join me in congratulating Fiona and Katy for making it to the finalist stage of this years Oban & Lorn Volunteer of the Year in the Regional Hero category. The winner will be announced at the award ceremony taking place at the end of June and I for one know they would get my vote as they are without a doubt absolute heros to our troop who wouldn't exist without them. 🌟

We’re all very proud of our 19th Argyll Scout Group Explorers who collected 132kg of beach litter on Tuesday at Duntrune Castle in 28 bags plus a fence pole, a length of plastic pipe and a length of earthenware pipe! It was definitely an interesting night that made us all think about the kind of litter that ends up in the ocean. 🌊

Thanks to Lucy & Andy Malcolm for facilitating their visit and to the wonderful volunteers at Tarbert Action on Coastal Litter for providing beach cleaning equipment and infectious enthusiasm, plus delicious Scouts themed cupcakes for afterwards 🧁

Anne was delighted to catch up with Jackie from 15th Argyll during the Explorer Belt 2026 training weekend, and to present Jackie with an Award for Merit. Jackie is to be congratulated on receiving this well deserved award. She was nominated particularly for her hard work in leading the project to get a new Scout Hall for Mull but also for her ongoing GLV support of 15th Argyll.

Such a great activity! Could this be you or your group next year?
