Uig Kindness Cabin Our Purpose
Helping the environment and our community through food waste diversion and sharing. Thank you.

The Church of Scotland has kindly agreed to the use of its portacabin as a Kindness Cabin to support our community and promote sustainability through reduced waste. We are a registered food business with the local authority, our aim is to be able to accept donated fresh & frozen produce, which will be freely available to everyone in our community. The project, which is under the wing of Uig Commun

ity Trust, is being generously supported by The Church of Scotland, The Community Foodbank Skye & Lochalsh, and the Uig Community Trust is also funding the start-up costs. We will have volunteering opportunities so please message the page if you are interested. We are able to accept monetary donations at

We are hoping that we can apply for some additional funding for the cabin - part of this will be determined by the number of users we are currently supporting.
There is an anonymous snap survey on the front of the cabin fridge and we would really appreciate it if our users could possibly take a minute to fill this out if they are in over the next few weeks.

We received a much needed donation from The Community Foodbank - Skye and Lochalsh today. They generously gave us tins of soup, veg and fruit as well as porridge, coffee and jam.
