This week has been
Credu WCD Young Carers have organised 3 successful Community events. With the theme of Building Carer Friendly Comunities we invited some of our community partners to join us including Outside Lives - Wellbeing for People & Planet, the play teams from our 3 Counties of Wrexham, Conwy & Denbighshire, the Fire Service, Youth Workers, Big Ideas Wales, NEWCIS. We also booked Circus skills, ponies, owls and reptiles.
Big thanks to Colwyn Bay Rugby Club, Rhuddlan hub and Community Council and National Trust for letting us use the grounds of Erddig.
But most importantly, BIG thanks to our young carers families who came and joined us, got involved and made the events a success.

50 of Credu Supporting Young and Adult Carers youngest carers from Wrexham, Conwy and Denbighshire came together in Halkyn woods for a Mad Hatters Tea Party. The children made potions, toasted marshmallows, hung out on hammocks, had a silent disco and played. Our Tea party was full of jelly, cake, fruit, crisps and sandwiches.

We had a brilliant time at WellFest in Wrexham last Saturday. A huge thank you to New Meddwl Ymlaen - Mind Our Future and the YLAB young people who organised, welcomed and hosted on the day. We took along our badge-making kit and a Silent Disco. The event was full of warm community spirit.

If you are thinking about post-16 education don't forget to look into EMA and whether you are eligible for some financial assistance.

Between missed buses and last-minute coursework… school and college life can be stressful enough for teenagers (and parents!)

Let’s take money worries out of the mix with the Education Maintenance Allowance.

If your child is aged 16-18 and studying a full-time course, they could be eligible for £40 a week towards food, travel or whatever they need to help them through their studies.

Find out if your child is eligible: https://www.gov.wales/cymru-student-support

✨ Young Carers Wellbeing Session ✨
This half term, Credu Young Carers from Rhyl, Prestatyn, and Corwen Credu WCD Young Carers in Denbighshire explored the 5 Ways to Wellbeing—building on workshops in local primary schools through a fun and creative play session with Dux 💛
Using loose parts play, everyone had the chance to let their imagination run free, building, creating, and leading their own play. From teamwork and laughter to moments of calm focus, it was amazing to see each young carer express themselves in their own unique way.
🌿 Connect – sharing ideas and playing together
🎨 Be Active – moving, building, exploring
🧠 Take Notice – enjoying the moment and the details
💡 Keep Learning – trying new ways to create
💛 Give – helping and encouraging each other
Sometimes the simplest materials create the biggest adventures ✨
