The highlight of the event was undoubtedly cultural historian Diana Darkeโ€™s extraordinary presentation on the Middle Eastern and Islamic architectural influences woven into medieval European heritage sites, including our very own Lincoln Cathedral. Her research, dedication, and contribution to uncovering these shared cultural connections are truly amazing and deeply inspiring!

A massive thank you to the entire team at Threshold and everyone behind the scenes who worked so hard to bring such an insightful and meaningful event to life.

It was an absolute privilege to join Diana Darke and Brant Clayton (Lincoln Free Walking Tour) on stage as a panelist afterward. Together, we explored what it means for our diverse communities to discover their heritage embedded in Lincolnโ€™s most celebrated landmark, and how these discoveries help us tell a richer, more inclusive story of our city's history.

At a time when the world feels increasingly divided, and conflicts are pulling people apart, this conference was a powerful reminder of why reconciliation is so urgently needed. Bringing together diverse faith leaders, academics, and peacebuilders to focus on understanding, peace, and unity was a tremendous achievement.

Subash Chellaiah and the entire organizing team deserve so much appreciation for their vision, dedication, and years of hard work in bringing an event of this scale and importance to our city. They have created a vital bridge, giving local organizations, community members, and international voices a space to listen, learn, and connect.

I was honored to attend as a market stallholder at Bishop Grosseteste University. While I wasn't able to attend the opening ceremony, sitting in on the keynotes and presentations offered a wonderfully rich learning and networking experience.

Having a space to showcase our work at Lincoln Connected Communities and connect with so many passionate people highlighted how deeply aligned our shared goals are: reducing isolation, fostering genuine inclusion, and building a compassionate, connected community for everyone.

What an absolutely incredible time we had at the *Wide Festival 2026*! ๐ŸŒโค๏ธ

We were so incredibly honored to be invited by the fantastic Gainsborough Multicultural Group who organized this spectacular day. Witnessing firsthand how you brought everyone together to celebrate our diverse, beautiful community was truly inspiring.
From start to finish, the energy was unmatched! The day was packed with:
* ๐Ÿ› Delicious free food and celebration cakes
* ๐ŸŽจ Colorful stalls, intricate henna designs, and beautiful face painting
* ๐Ÿ’ƒ Vibrant cultural dresses, stunning bangles, and non-stop music
* ๐ŸŽต High-energy Bhangra and dance performances that had everyone moving!
A massive shoutout to the local council as well, who were fully engaged, supportive, and hands-on in making this event such a resounding success. Seeing local leadership and community groups work hand-in-hand is exactly how we build a stronger, more connected society.
At *Lincoln Connected Communities*, our core mission is to advocate for inclusivity and bring people together through events just like this. Seeing the laughter, the shared moments, and the rich cultural exchange today reminded us exactly why this work matters. Everyone felt included, seen, and celebrated.
