🇬🇧 Lincolnshire County Poppy Launch

A fantastic event hosted by the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre. Bringing together veterans, cadets, families and communities to celebrate the launch of the Poppy Appeal.

The event included a Royal British Legion service, a gathering of standards and cadets, and a spectacular finale as 50,000 biodegradable paper poppies were released from beneath the wings of the iconic Just Jane Avro Lancaster bomber.

An especially proud moment for 3 Company, whose cadets proudly represented us as standard bearers throughout the event.

The photographs capture a cadet from each of our six detachments: Holbeach, Kirton, Spalding, Boston, Skegness and Long Sutton.

Well done to all our cadets. You represented 3 Company with pride and distinction. We couldn’t be prouder! 👏🇬🇧

Day 2 of squadron camp complete
The cadets have had a very fun day with training today.
The basics done first aid which included a multiple casualties scenario involving responsive and unresponsive casualties.

The 1 stars completed their skill at arms lessons today which is one step closer to passing their weapon handling tests.

The 2 stars passed their first aid yesterday so today they put their newly earned skills to good use to deal with 2 scenarios which involved some good acting from the carde DS staff.

The 3 stars completed and passed their 3 star drill assessment which is very impressive.

Amazing achievements were achieved and some good learning.

10 Troop Sleaford members took part in season gardening, general maintenance and litter picking at Ruskington community garden with help and guidance from Ruskington Parish Council. With helping out one of the local communities around Sleaford, the cadets learnt when to plant, how to care for your garden and what helps local wildlife throughout the seasons. It was a pleasure to see the cadets get hands on work, helping one of many community projects in the area.

Alford detachment had a bitter sweet month of September. Awards night on the 9th celebrated the successes of the cadets with Trophies awards for Best Cadet, Drill and turnout, most improved cadet, sporting achievement and shooting as well as the 1st presentation of the RBL trophy for fundraising and community engagement. Presented by Ann Lincoln chair of the Alford RBL branch.
It also marked the last parade night of Sgt Logan Stonehill who left to attend Harrogate Army Foundation College.

The following week we said goodbye to LCpl Pearson who leaves to embark on a new family adventure in Qatar.

As part of the National Cadet Week Horncastle Detachment held an opening evening on Monday 05 October, where the cadets demonstrated some of the great activities available within the Army Cadet Force. The event was well supported by the local community and was enjoyed by all.

In addition to the open evening, presentations were delivered to local schools throughout the week and cadets were encouraged to wear their uniforms to school on Wednesday 07 October.

Horncastle detachment had a great time over the course of the week and are looking forward to next year’s celebration already.
