Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who has responded to our appeal and offered to help and just to let us know how sorry you are that this has happened. It has given us a lift knowing people care and want to help.
We can't use the hut but on Tuesday we are doing a group mini hike before the Easter break which will hopefully give us time to sort as much as we can out before the new term.
Thank you all from all the leaders and trustees at the 28thGreenlands scout Group.

AMAZING SCOUTING FAMILY
Thank you everyone for all the support you have shown.
We have started a go fund me to help with the cost of damages.
We understand and are not expecting everyone to donate as this is a financially tough year for a lot of people.
But we ask if you can copy and paste the link and share it as far as possible.

Hi there! The 28th Lincoln scout hut was recently broken into, leaving us with smashed windows, damaged doors, and stolen items that need urgent repairs and replacements. Any support you can offer—big or small—would mean a lot as we work to get things back to normal. Please consider sharing or donating if you're able to help us restore this community space.

28th Lincoln scout hut has been broken into. we have smashed windows and damage… Nico Benton needs your support for Raise money for repairs and replacements

Early on Tuesday morning we heard that our scout hut at the 28th was broken into and vandalised.

A Window was smashed, equipment was damaged, and items were taken from both buildings. A Fire extinguisher was discharged where our camping equipment is, the second one was also discharged leaving us with a huge clean-up operation and making the space unsafe to use due to the mess.

Sadly, this means we’re unable to meet for the next couple of weeks while we clear up and make the building safe again. Like many Scout groups, all of our leaders are volunteers with daytime jobs, so this will take time.

Despite this, our young people have shown just how resilient and positive they are. Instead of regular meetings, they’re already making the best of things - planning a mini hike and a trip to the chip shop together next week.

We’ve also been incredibly touched by the response from our Scout families. Parents have been amazing, offering their support, time, and help with the clean-up. Even more heartwarming, some of our young people have asked if they can help by organising things like cake sales to raise money for repairs. It really shows what Scouts is all about.

As volunteers, we give our time to provide opportunities for young people in our community, so it’s incredibly upsetting to see this happen. But the support we’ve already received reminds us how strong our community is.

We’re now working hard to get everything back up and running as quickly as possible.

We’re also incredibly grateful for any offers of practical help or support from the local community.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out so far – it really does mean a lot 💜

From all the leaders and Trustees at the 28th Lincoln Greenland’s scout group.

We are still in need of new beavers at the 28th. Any children aged between 6 and 8 can join as our waiting list is now at zero so, the young people can start next week. We meet on a Thursday during term time from 6.15 to 7.30pm. We have an overnight camp in April and lots of badge work planned as well as having fun, making friends and learning new skills.
