Cpl White had the privilege of attending Gold Cyber Course at RAF Cosford.

"My experience of the gold cyber course at RAF Cosford has been fantastic - from the instructors to the cadets. We learnt in the classroom and out, with the classroom learning solidified with immersive practical work on the computers.
From cyber laws to warfare, the course taught us how to prevent, recognise, and educate others on the subject at a high level, and I look forward to passing on this knowledge to the cadets on squadron and wing!

A highlight of the course was winning the Top Cadet prize awarded by the Armed Forces Communications Engineering and Technology Academic trust at the end of the week. I was honoured to have made an impact on staff for the recognition, as everyone worked so hard on this course it was such a tough decision I'm sure.

A massive thank you to all staff at RAF Cosford as well as course instructors for being so welcoming and hard working in ensuring we were all well fed, cooled and accommodated for the week, as well as doing their usual jobs."

Building scale models is a brilliant activity for cadets—it combines hands-on engineering skills, attention to detail, and patience with a tangible lesson in aviation history and technology.

Comparing a Spitfire (piston engine, WWII legend), a BAE Hawk (classic jet trainer/light attack), and an F-35 (modern 5th-generation stealth multirole fighter) side by side gives a really clear visual timeline of how aerodynamics, propulsion, and military aviation design have evolved over the decades.

It’s a great example of blending personal interests with practical learning!

On Thursday 23rd July 2026, cadets from across Trent Wing RAFAC were joined by Lincolnshire Police Cadets to form a Lining Party for the sixth annual International Bomber Command Day, held at the International Bomber Command Centre (IBCC) in Lincoln.

The service pays fitting tribute to the extraordinary achievements of the many young men and women who served with RAF Bomber Command over its 32 years — and this year held particular significance, marking the 90th anniversary of the Command's creation.

A procession of Standards, including the Trent Wing RAFAC Banner, was led along the Ribbon of Remembrance to the Spire and the Wall of Names by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) Torch of Commemoration.

A short Service of Remembrance was held at the Spire, concluding with the laying of wreaths — including one laid on behalf of Trent Wing RAFAC.

It was a privilege for our cadets to take part in such a poignant occasion, standing alongside Lincolnshire Police Cadets to help honour the memory and sacrifice of those who served. Thank you to all the cadets and staff involved in representing Trent Wing so well.

PRESENTATION ASSESSMENT 18/7/2026
Congratulations to Cpl’s Beeton, Bury, Eley, Gallagher and Gough who successfully delivered their presentations during this last Saturday's training session. They were universally of a very high standard, well delivered and thoroughly engaging.

The presentation Skills course, and it's subsequent assessment phase helps develop a cadet's confidence in front of an audience; a skill that will undoubtabley be of great benefit in their future careers.

Many thanks go to CI Forrester & CI Spittles for adjudicating the presentations; also, to Cadet Sgt Emerson who helped organise the classroom and the running order for the morning’s event.

Such was the high standard of their presentations; all five candidates, along with their colleague Cpl Berry, will join with six other candidates to progress to the next level, the Method of Instruction Course. We wish them every success in their progression.
