This week’s is in celebration of the 60 supporters who came together to raise over £35,006 for Maggie’s through the epic 6 Nations Plus+ Challenge.
Together, friends and colleagues from across the catering, foodservice and hospitality industries climbed The Cobbler, canoed across Loch Lomond, and climbed the inside of The Kelpies sculptures near Falkirk - all in one day!
David, who took part in the challenge in memory of his brother Jimmy, says: “Losing someone you love to cancer changes your life forever. I wanted to do something positive in Jimmy's memory, something that would help other people and families going through the same heartbreak. Maggie’s does extraordinary work supporting people impacted by cancer, and knowing that we’ve helped raise over £35,000 makes me incredibly proud. Jimmy was with me in spirit every step of the way.”
Roisin, who was diagnosed with cancer, shares her motivations for taking part: “Having faced cancer myself, I know just how frightening and overwhelming that journey can be. Maggie’s was there for me when I needed support, understanding and somewhere I could turn. Taking part in the Six Nations Plus Challenge was my opportunity to give something back to a charity that means so much to me personally. If the money we've raised helps even one more person facing cancer feel less alone, then every mile, every challenge and every difficult moment was worth it.”
