KLSB Community Group Our vision is to help tackle food poverty and bring initiatives to our local community.

KLSB started as a small group set up by a few friends to help tidy up a local park in Stenhousemuir. We quickly grew and after a while, we began operations to start a local community food pantry as well as carrying out gardening work in our community. In 2021 KLSB became a registered charity meaning that we could expand the work that we do through funding. Our community pantry now supports over 50

households per week as well as offers emergency support to agencies and local institutes such as NHS Forth Valley, Police Scotland, Falkirk Council, Family Support, Local Schools and Citizens Advice, etc. In August 2022 we brought a community kitchen/coffee shop to our premises at 17 King Street where we offer work experience and a chance to gain a recognised qualification as a barista to young adults from Larbert High School. We continue to work in the gardens and in 2022 we planted 4 large wildflower meadows on King Street as well as placed over 60 large floral displays in our town center and surrounding areas. KLSB is supported by a team of volunteers and we have forged alliances with local businesses who help and benefit our initiatives.

From kicking a ball against a wall in a pair of wellies...

To playing football in the sideways rain until it got too dark to see...

To early mornings and late nights, sacrifices, setbacks, and never giving up on a dream.

Every one of our Scotland players started somewhere. Not in packed stadiums. Not on the world stage. But on school pitches, local parks, muddy fields and streets just like ours.

Tonight, they carry the hopes of a nation.

Win or draw, it doesn't matter. (3-1 win would be grand though)

They have already done something special.

They have ignited a nation. They have brought families, friends and communities together. They have made us believe. Most of all, they have made us proud.

So go out there, lads, enjoy every minute and gie them welly.

The whole country is behind you.

A lovely wee day was had by all at Seagull Trust Cruises- Falkirk. We sang, we danced, we gabbed, we laughed and we learned a lot about the canal. We also had a wonderful lunch thanks to David our Cafe Co-ordinator.

Thank you to all of the KLSB volunteers that came along along to help today. It’s truly appreciated.

We can’t thank the amazing volunteers at the Seagull Trust, as always they make the cruise, what a bunch of truly inspiration people they are πŸ’•

Today our Lunch Club members and other friends are setting off on our annual canal trip with The Seagull Trust Cruises- Falkirk. a day that many look forward to every year.

With plenty of laughs, good company, snacks, and a glass of beer or wine along the way, we're sure it's going to be another fantastic day on the water.

Our annual trip is a wonderful opportunity to spend time together, enjoy the beautiful scenery, and create lasting memories with friends old and new.

We hope everyone has a fantastic day and enjoys every minute of the journey.

In less than 24 hours, 4 amazing supporters have helped us raise £165 towards our £500 target, enough to provide 165 instant meals to local families who may be struggling over the summer holidays. ❀️

For many children, school provides a hot meal each day. During the holidays, that support disappears, and the pressure on families increases.

Our goal is simple:

🍜 £1 buys 1 meal
❀️ Every donation makes a difference

We're now 33% of the way there, but we still need your help to reach the remaining Β£335.

This summer, many local families will face the school holidays without the support of free school meals.

KLSB Community Group is launching our 500 Meals for Β£500 campaign to help provide food support throughout the summer holidays.

πŸ’š Every Β£1 donated helps us purchase food and ingredients that, alongside generous donations from local businesses and our community, can be turned into meals for local families.

🍽️ £500 will help us stretch donated food even further and ensure we can continue supporting people when they need it most.
