Work of the Week!

We're not saying our team are easily bribed but this weeks work of the week goes to Anneliese who baked these wonderful dino themed buns for everyone to share in our summer holiday digital podcast club.

They were delicious and very creative - covered in edible glitter, filled with jam, and topped with a dinosaur!

Big thumbs up from all of us!

We do a lot of online sessions, but also do face to face activities in Hull - giving local young people chance to join us in creative activities.

Creative children aged 8+ can join in through our learning portal and start their Arts Award journey here: https://www.creativebriefs.co.uk/arts-award

🦖 We’re looking for 3 local families to be among the first to experience a brand-new dinosaur exhibit at Dinostar!

Creative Briefs has been working with KCOM and Dinostar in Hull on an exciting new exhibition centred around an extraordinary new dinosaur discovery — and it’s now complete and installed at Dinostar on Humber Street.

This is huge news for Hull, with Dinostar having exclusive rights to display and promote the discovery.

What makes it even more special is that the exhibition has been designed and curated by local young people, who have played a major part in bringing the whole story to life.

We’re now looking for 3 families to visit Dinostar on Wednesday 26 August, experience the exhibition for themselves and tell us what they think.

Selected families will also have the opportunity to take part in our upcoming Creative Briefs podcast, which will be recorded at Dinostar on the day.

Interested?

👉 Fill in our short expression of interest here:

Please share with any Hull families who might like to get involved.

Work of the Week goes to ⭐️two⭐️ of our youth team ambassadors who have stepped up and taken over our instagram, and also our brand new TikTok account!

Each has total freedom to share what we get up to, in their own way. We can't wait to see what they come up with.

We're super proud to see them both leading the socials like this, and getting across the work we do from their perspective!

Be sure to give them a follow and like and share their posts!

Work of the Week!

In todays session one of our Silver Arts Award cohort ran their Arts Leadership Project. This is a key part of Silver Arts Award where young people plan and deliver an activity.

They've been planning and organising the session for weeks and today they were given chance to shine!

We were super proud to see this young person take ownership of their own 'Fantasy Animals' workshop - guiding other children through the steps to create and illustrate their own creatures.

Here's some examples of the creatures that participants in the workshop completed. Fantastic evidence of a well delivered workshop!

Silver Arts Award is really advanced! Young people can work through Discover, Explore, and then Bronze Arts Award with us - and then progress to Silver when they feel ready. Discover is a great place to start for any budding artist or designer - join in the fun by signing up here: https://www.creativebriefs.co.uk/arts-award

🎨 DOES YOUR CHILD LOVE BEING CREATIVE?

The Creative Briefs learning portal helps young people aged 8+ turn their creativity into confidence, new skills and a nationally recognised Arts Award certificate.

Children work through their Arts Award at their own pace, using clear, manageable steps designed to help them feel capable rather than overwhelmed.

They can:

🤩 Choose when and how they complete each activity
🤩 Use writing, drawings, photographs, audio or other creative evidence
🤩 Revisit instructions as many times as they need
🤩 Build their confidence through achievable steps
🤩 Create a portfolio that celebrates their ideas and progress

The programme is neurodiverse and dyslexia friendly, making it particularly suitable for children who may not always thrive through traditional ways of learning.

Optional monthly online workshops are also available, where children can receive extra hints and support, share their ideas and meet other creative young people.

Find out more and see when the next online sessions start:

Work of the Week goes to this page from a Bronze Arts Award portfolio - this is a great example of exploring the arts as a participant. This young person took part in a comic design workshop, showed examples of their work, and told us what they learnt.

We love the characters designed around food - especially the villain 'Evil Ketchup' designed around food they dislike! 🍅

What would your food villain be? 🤔

Young people can take part in Arts Award with us from home! Gain instant access to our online learning portal, packed with ideas and tips on how to complete Arts Award at any level. Portal members can also join our optional monthly online sessions for extra support. Access here: https://www.creativebriefs.co.uk/arts-award
