Artlink Hull Artlink Hull enables the creation and exploration of art with, in, and about communities.

Since 1982, Artlink Hull has been a community arts charity dedicated to bringing the creative arts to everyone, especially people who haven't had the chance to get involved before. In particular, we work with individuals and communities experiencing disadvantage to increase the diversity of voices in the arts. We do this through art commissions, projects, exhibitions, events, learning programmes,

and forums, working with a range of communities. Since our establishment in 1982, Artlink Hull has been continually involved in the development of community, participatory and socially-engaged art practices, and remains a key organisation in the Humber region within these fields.

Part of being an Explorer means that every week, we critically and creatively investigate art work in the gallery, and from the world outside of the gallery connected to our key words and subjects for the current term.

Last term at Gallery Explorers, our key word for learning was ‘Fragility’. Beginning with an investigation of the exhibition Deep Unknowns by Maria Donnai, over 10 weeks we used molding and casting from natural objects and personal possessions with alginate and jesmonite (pictured here), photography, cardboard sculpture and 3D scanning to explore the physical properties of materials, interpretations of strength and vulnerability, and ecological balance.

A new term begins tomorrow evening, Wednesday 6th May - enrol now by heading to the link in our bio.

Follow for highlights and outcomes across our Explorers programme taking place in exciting spaces here at Artlink Hull | 87 Gallery and across the city.
