Marham Military Wives Choir

Marham Military Wives Choir Military Wives Choir Marham was founded in January 2012. We have become affectionately known as the Marham Bluebirds in the local area. So we do!

We are part of the Military Wives Choirs Foundation charity which was created following the enormous success of the No.1 single Wherever You Are, which raised over half a million pounds for SSAFA and The Royal British Legion. Founded in September 2012 by a small group of military wives from the very first choirs to build a lasting legacy of choirs for women in the military community, the Foundatio

n helps women around the UK and around the world to share the enjoyment and pride that comes from singing together. There are more than 80 choirs in the Military Wives Choirs Foundation to date, with the Marham Military Wives Choir being one of those to be initially set up after the success of the first choirs featured in the BBC Documentary Series, The Choir: Military Wives with Gareth Malone. Since then the Bluebirds have been busy with local projects such as singing at the Battle of Britain Parade, Unveiling of the War Memorial in Peterborough, singing at the local hospice, performing at the National Armed Forces day celebrations in Nottingham, performing at various RBL events and also at the Waddington International Air Show. Local events are something all the Bluebirds feel passionately about and look forward performing at more events in 2022. Our members help one another through the bad times, celebrate the good times and all of us sing our way through military life together. Alone, anyone can struggle to be heard. But with our Bluebird friends alongside us, it feels like we can do anything. It's been an amazing few years but as lucky as some of our past and present ladies have been to play a small part in unforgettable events like the Festival of Remembrance and the Diamond Jubilee celebrations, it's the work each of us does in our own community that we love the most. The nomadic life of military families means it can be tough to put down roots in communities before it's time to move on again. But wherever we are in the world, the choir gives each of us a real chance to get involved and make a difference where we live, singing for local good causes or supporting other military charities like SSAFA, The Royal British Legion or Help for Heroes. Just as much as they build up unbreakable bonds, our choir also breaks down barriers. We're lucky enough to sing everywhere from village halls to concert halls, from schools to stadiums. We raise money for the Military Wives Choirs Foundation a non profitable charity that supports all the Military Wives Choirs, other military charities and charities close to the heart of the community in which we live. Ultimately, we bring women in the military community closer together through singing meaning we truly are ‘Stronger Together'. Twitter

What a fantastic social evening we had last night!

With our MD away, our lovely Cat had been busy behind the scenes over the last few weeks creating and organising our very own version of The Traitors for us all to enjoy.

From the moment the game began, there were accusations flying, alliances being formed, plenty of plotting, and more than a few attempts to work out who could (and couldn’t) be trusted, as well as lots of laughs along the way.

Our very own Auntie Claud kept us all on our toes, guiding us through the twists and turns of the game with the perfect mix of mystery, suspense and humour.

Congratulations to the Three Traitors, who managed to stay hidden right until the end and claim victory! 😈🕵️

A massive thank you to Cat for all the hard work and creativity that went into making the evening such a success.
We had an absolute blast! It’s evening like these that remind us that our choir is about so much more than singing.
It’s about friendship, laughter and making memories together too 💜🎶

Today we come together to remember the courage, sacrifice and unwavering determination of those who took part in
D-Day on 6 June 1944.

We honour the servicemen and women who answered the call of duty, many of whom made the ultimate sacrifice in the pursuit of peace and freedom.
Their bravery and selflessness continue to inspire us and remind us of the strength found in service, unity and community.

As we reflect on their legacy, we give thanks for the freedom they fought to protect and remember all those whose lives were forever changed by the events of that day.

We well remember them. Lest we forget.

🌸Goodbye May, Hello June🌸

What a busy and wonderful month we’ve had at
Marham Military Wives Choir!

May has been packed with friendship, learning, and plenty of singing.
We enjoyed two fantastic Give to Gain meet-ups, one where we spent time in the beautiful gardens of Oxburgh Hall, finishing the day with a performance, and another where we learned all about delicious juicing and its many health benefits. 💚

A couple of our ladies also attended Committee Day, enjoying the opportunity to catch up with choir friends from across the country and share experiences with fellow Military Wives Choir members 💜

To top it all off, some of our choir members joined Honington for a performance at the zoo, making more wonderful memories through music and friendship.

As we look back on fantastic May, we’re excited to see what June has in store for us.
Here’s to more singing, laughter, friendship, and opportunities to come together as a choir family. 💜🎶

💚Time for another Give to Gain meet-up this morning, and this one was all about the juice 🥤 💚

Jacqui, one of our wonderful ladies, shared her passion for the incredible health benefits of juicing - on just fruit, but vegetables too.

We learned that juicing is a convenient way to boost your intake of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, helping you get more goodness into your diet.
We sampled a variety of delicious juices and discovered just how easy it can be to incorporate more fruit and vegetables into our daily routines.

“And who knew beetroot could taste so delicious?
It was definitely a surprise favourite for many of us!” 😋🥤

We also learned that the leftover pulp doesn’t have to go to waste, it can be used in a variety of recipes, including making delicious cakes and other tasty treats.

It was fun and informative session, filled with learning, laughter, and plenty of healthy inspiration.
A huge thank you to Jacqui for sharing her knowledge, enthusiasm and fantastic juicing tips with us 🍎🥕🥒💜

We can’t wait to see what our next Give to Gain session brings! 💚
