This week is Child Accident Prevention Week 2026 ⭐

Under‑5s learn by exploring! The Child Accident Prevention Trust (CAPT) offers free, practical resources to help families prevent the most common and serious accidents at home, including burns, button batteries, choking, drowning, falls, fire safety, poisoning and more.

Top Safety Tips for Little Ones:
πŸ”₯ Keep hot drinks and pans out of reach. Hot drink burns are a major cause of injury.
πŸ”‹ Store button batteries safely and check toys/remotes. Swallowing one can cause life‑threatening harm.
πŸ‡ Prevent choking by cutting food into small pieces and staying close while they eat.
πŸ’§ Stay within arm’s reach around water. Drowning happens silently and quickly.
πŸͺœ Secure windows and use blind‑cord safety to reduce risks of falls and strangulation.
🧴 Store cleaning products and laundry capsules out of sight and reach to prevent poisoning.

CAPT has lots of information and resources on their website πŸ‘‰ https://capt.org.uk/child-safety-advice/
