A flashback to when Christopher Brookmyre attended Tidelines Book Festival back in 2017!

We're delighted he'll return to the Harbour Arts Centre on Friday 3 July to celebrate the release of his new novel 'Quite Ugly One Evening'. He'll be in conversation with Glasgow writer Callum McSorley, and together they'll discuss the return of fan-favourite journalist Jack Parlabane, 30 years after his first appearance in 'Quite Ugly One Morning'.

Inspired by a wonderful book and simply the joy of reading, here is the winning Intergalactic ice-cream invented by 4 year old Teddy Bone and his mum! Brought from outer space into life by the team at Vanilla Joe's, using the magic ingredients of strawberry & blueberry gelato, popping candy, edible glitter and chocolate rocks. Mission complete! 'A world of pure imagination'.

Dookers and Bookers - it's back! A bespoke FREE event, funded by The Great Harbour Community Fund. Join us for a guided dip in the sea at Irvine Beach on Sunday 16 August. Goddess of Breath, Gemma Collins, will take us through our paces before we enter the water and then again when we come out. Then it’s back to the HAC for luxury hot chocolate. Hear how local swimmer Chantal McFeely used cold water and a journal to combat grief. Culminate the experience by creating a personalised silk journal cover with talented artist, Lynn McNally. Start with the dook and end with the book! Only 13 spaces left!

Had a wonderful evening at Paisley Book Festival who made everyone feel truly special and warmly welcomed, in keeping with their 'Everyday Heroes, Everlasting Icons' theme for 2026. An inspirational book community in a unique space. A great chance to network and glean ideas. Here's to the power of books making a difference! 🌊📚🎉
