I am pleased to inform you that the new RWE Bowbeat Wind Farm (Innerleithen) Community Fund is now open to applications. This Fund supports community projects benefiting those living in the Innerleithen & District Community Council areas, which includes Cardrona, Traquair and the Glen. This Fund is provided by RWE Renewables UK Operations Limited, the owner of RWE Bowbeat Wind Farm, with £52,000 ringfenced in year 1 (and rising with inflation each subsequent year) to provide a fund for the benefit of residents.
The Fund comprises 2 Rounds of applications in Year 1, with 3 Rounds planned in subsequent years. The deadline for the first Round of Applications is 21 June 2026, with decision outcomes regarding awards planned for August 2026. Decisions will be made by a group of local residents that make up the local decision-making Panel.
Fund Grant sizes range from £1,000- £5,000 (and up to £10,000 in exceptional circumstances – see Fund Page below for more details)
