Nae spleens is OPEN!
After a massive effort from our amazing volunteers and contractors Nae Spleens is finished! We must say a massive thank you to everyone who helped with this project, from the volunteers braving the rain, wind, mud and more mud to getting the foresters to save the trail during felling. They also provided contractors to help move brash from the lay-by for the new exit and provided an arborist to cut and chamfer the stumps.
Also a massive thank you to Eric, for building what has been titled “The Great Wall of Golfie”, managing to turn the softest wettest bit of the whole hill into a great piece of trail.
We hope you enjoy!
Watch out for a video coming soon!

Callout #14 of 2026 (3/5/26)

The team were called out on Sunday to help at an incident involving a MTB rider at the Golfie (nr. Innerleithen). The rider did a great job in getting themself to the head of the trail, making the job a lot easier. Working alongside Scottish Ambulance Service and Police Scotland Lothians & Scottish Borders (on quad bikes - they'd been in the area on patrol) the casualty was quickly treated and evacuated.

Calling all mountain bikers riding in the Tweed Valley - we'd love for you to 'Give us a Quid' ! Or even 'Half a Quid' !!
Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team, run by volunteers, 24 hour per day, all year, provides you all with a world class, free and cheery rescue service when you need it, generally after a serious fall on our stunning official and unofficial valley trails. And we do this because we are all bikers, runners, climbers, walkers and hill users like you all and we want to help. However, at £55k per year to run the team, just keeping it as it is, is proving increasingly hard, as our outgoings per year are getting to be more than our income.

This is why we need you, as much as you may need us.

So go on - then next time you are out on your bike, hammering down a trail, think first about getting down the trail, obviously...then about giving us a quid ! (or half a quid, or several quid!!)

If we could get £1 from every rider on the trails in the Valley, think how good that would be ? You've paid thousands for that bike and gear of yours...so go on...'Give us a Quid'
