Feeling lonely is a normal part of life. Being alone can be isolating, but you can also feel lonely surrounded by close social groups and strong support networks. When these feelings are long lasting or strong, they can have negative impacts on our wellbeing and mental health.

We feel lonely so our mental health declines. Having poor mental health can lead to behaviours that make you feel more lonely, such as cancelling plans, avoiding social interactions, and a loss of confidence. This can become a cycle where things just keep getting worse and worse.

When this becomes too much, itโ€™s hard to break out of. Below are a few tips on how you can try to handle loneliness. If you are struggling, there is support out there.

Visit our website or contact us for more ideas on where to get support. You can also contact local charities or your GP for further support ๐Ÿ’š

We are absolutely thrilled to receive the Erewash Community Group of the Year Award for 2026. Itโ€™s a real honour for us and is testament to the hard work of our amazing volunteers working to prevent young su***de in our community.

We have been supported right from the beginning by the team at Erewash Voluntary Action in all areas and thank them for believing in what we are trying to achieve.

We had a fantastic time at the Community Celebration Event at Long Eaton where we met lovely people and had important conversations about su***de prevention.

Look out for each other and know there is support in our communities๐Ÿ’š
