What do we do at Code Club?

For beginners, a good place to start is Scratch. Developed by MIT and used in UK schools, Scratch teaches basic coding concepts visually by using blocks. The Scratch community is huge, and gives coders the opportunity to share and remix each others projects - at Code Club we start beginners with a selection of specially designed projects created by the Raspberry Pi Foundation.

Scratch is a free programming language and online community where you can create your own interactive stories, games, and animations.

Our free Code Club for kids aged 7+ starts in just one week, suitable for beginners and experienced coders alike. We're running a block of six sessions up to half term, booking in advance is essential.

We have 8 devices for anyone who is unable to bring their own, please contact us as soon as you can if your young coder needs one as these will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Our club currently has a maximum of 20 spaces in total, so we recommend booking as soon as you can to reserve your space. If you have any questions, please ask in the comments below, thanks!

We are excited to announce the launch of our new Code Club!

We will be holding an exciting one-off taster event this coming Tuesday - message us to register your interest and book a place.

Our Code Club is free, however booking is essential - we have eight machines available for use by anyone who cannot bring along their own laptop or tablet, these spaces will be booked on a first come, first served basis. Anyone attending with their own device also needs to register their interest so we can be sure we have desk space for them.

Following this event we will be starting regular weekly sessions from Tuesday 14th April - if you have any questions please ask in the comments below!
