The Jack Pullen Foundation

The Jack Pullen Foundation This page is for The Jack Pullen Foundation. A Water Safety awareness Campaign in Jacks memory www.rlss.org.uk

This page is currently acting as a platform for Jacks friends, family and people who want to contribute in making a foundation in Jacks name to communicate and build The Jack Pullen Foundation. In July 2016, Jack Pullen sadly lost his life in a tragic river accident. We aim to create a charity in Jack's name to achieve the following charitable purposes:

- To deliver drowning prevention education

to all under 18 year olds in particular but not restricted to the North West of England.

- To provide swimming lessons to primary school children for an extended period; not just one term. In particular but not restricted to achieving lifesaving badge/award.

- To provide counselling to those families and friends affected by accidents caused by drowning. At the moment, this is the first step in this huge plan to create the foundation in Jack's legacy, to help others understand the dangers of water and hopefully educate and prevent this from happening. So we really would appreciate any suggestions, advice, guidelines on building this foundation and creating fundraising events in Jack's name. The Royal Lifesaving Society are a registered charity helping and guiding us during this process.

Jumping into open water can be fatal. Cold water shock and under-water currents can kill, and you don’t know what’s lurking beneath the surface.

Don’t become a statistic, stay safe around water.

Whether it's a stroll along the beach, a run beside the river or a scenic lakeside picnic, it's lovely to spend time near water... 🏖️

BUT with data from by the National Water Safety Forum showing that in 2023, 50% accidental drowning fatalities never intended to enter the water, it's important to understand how to say safe whenever you're AROUND water 🛟

It's the final day of Drowning Prevention Week, so please share our advice today 🙏
