Tameside South and Longdendale Foodbank

We had a lovely visit to foodbank today from four Happiness Heroes from Endeavour Academy and their teacher. They brought with them a whopping Harvest Festival donation which we were delighted to receive. Not only that but they helped weigh it all in and then, with amazing efficiency, set it all out for our customers to take. We were so impressed by their politeness and super helpful attitude. A credit to the school.

Our warehouse manager isn’t a fan of surprises but he was delighted to receive the donation from Holy Trinity, Church and Primary School Harvest Festivals. Thanks to the generous parishioners, parents and carers in the Gee Cross community.

Thanks to your amazing generosity, our stocks of basic food are looking healthy.

If you're planning to donate, we'd really appreciate toiletries such as nappies, baby wipes, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant and toilet rolls.

These are items many people struggle to afford, and they're always hugely appreciated by those we support. Thank you for helping us make a difference.

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week

Did you know that food banks are about so much more than food? They’re places of kindness, connection, and hope- where people can have a cup of tea, feel welcomed, and be truly listened to.

For many, it’s one of the first places they’ve felt heard in a long time.

The cost of living crisis isn’t just affecting finances - it’s having a real impact on mental health too. Worrying about money, food, and essentials can be overwhelming.

That’s why support like this matters so much 💚

For ways that you could help us to keep being able to offer this support check out our website https://salford.foodbank.org.uk/give-help/

Thanks to everyone who continues to support us. We couldn’t do it without you.

At our foodbanks we like to give out a few non essentials as well as our staple foods. Christmas and Easter always bring lots of these goodies but around this time our supplies dip so if you’d like to offer a little sweet treat we’d be happy to pass it on.
