Yesterday was the first weekend of 2 for the hens from The Macs Farm and what beautiful fluffy butt girlies they were. These hens are always so placid and pleasure to handle.

Big thanks to Bec’s who got up at a silly hour 🤣 to join us at the farm and rehoming in Brighton and Horsham.

Next weekend we will be back at the same farm to take the remainder of the flock 🎉

Hens are currently still available at many collection points including Horsham and Worthing

3 gorgeous hens (about a year old) are now looking for a new home due to no fault of their own. We are looking for a home where they will have lots of interaction as this is what they have been used to (good with children).

They could join a small flock but you would have to have full facilities to separate initially for slow, gentle introductions, this could take weeks rather than days.

Please message the page if you would like to be considered, we are looking for the best match for these girlies.

Normal Fresh Start for hens criteria required, photo of their enclosure etc and donation.

Thanks Kelly

Lots of dates coming up for Horsham (17th, 24th and 31st October) but we will also have hens available in Worthing and Brighton. Brighton will be open on 24th October and Worthing on the 31st.

The hens will be from the Mac’s Farm on the 24th and 31st and are always very popular with our rehomers so if you would like to register please don’t forget your photos and donation as your reservation isn’t considered complete without them.

See you tomorrow 🎉

🐔 🧡 ONE MORE SLEEP! 🧡 🐔

It's re-home weekend! But planning and logistics have been worked on by Fresh Start For Hens volunteers for many months now ... long before the hens arrive at their collection points 🗓 💻 ⏱️

Today the Farm Team are getting into position, loading their vans and preparing to overnight close to tomorrow's farm (located in Derbyshire) ready to be up before the sun in the morning and set free nearly 2000 very deserving hens. 🥰

Jules will be driving with fellow volunteer Julian and bringing back nearly 200 precious souls to our Ipswich Chantry Fresh Start for Hens collection point, tomorrow, Saturday 3 October.

ALL HENS ARE PRE-RESERVED AND ALL RE-HOMERS HAVE BEEN ALLOCATED TIMES IN THE AFTERNOON.

More than ever, these feathered ladies will be deserving of a life of freedom .. if you are re-homing tomorrow, these are caged hens - EVERYTHING will be a first for them ... first time breathing in fresh air, first time feeling the ground under their feet, first time to sleep in cosy, safe coops ... they really are the most rewarding, friendly hens ever! I have 3 here with me from the caged farm rescue in May who were very poorly. They are now living their best lives, happy and healthy - such a blessing to be part of their forever journey 🥰 🧡 🐔

Thank you to everyone who gives hens a fresh start, we look forward to seeing you tomorrow

When 2 recovering hens that are staying here atm and you’ve told one that she can stay forever if she makes it through (she was off her legs, extremely underweight and basically not interested in life and it has taken 6 weeks to get to the stage that life is worth living) and another hen that is afraid of every hen you’ve tried to introduce her to …..

You put them on the grass together and you get this ……. So what does this mean lol 😂

If you are collecting your hens today, we are looking forward to meeting you all 🎉
