CFR's are volunteers who provide immediate care to those in their community who have fallen ill. The CFR's are dispatched by the South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb). CFR's are trained to attend emergency calls received by the Ambulance Service, and give life-saving care in the minutes up to when the ambulance arrives. Training is provided by the Ambulance Service and covers Cardio Pulmonar

y Resuscitation (CPR) and the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). The aim of the group is to provide a service 24 hours a day 365 days of the year.

Well done to all of the team who undertook their annual BLS and AED recertification yesterday evening.

This covers dealing with a patient who is unconscious and not breathing, ensuring scene safety, effective CPR, airway management and use of an AED.

It fair to say that this is the one training evening each year that we all dread! We are glad to say that everyone passed with flying colours.

We had a busy year in 2025 - 3 new team members, CPD training and upskilling, along with fundraising events.

On top of that our volunteers spent 3124 hours responding to calls.

Behind the scenes we have volunteers who check our public access defib sites and help with fundraising and delivering CPR training.

Thank you to all our volunteers for giving up so much time and making a real difference in the community.

If you are looking for a voluntary role within our charity this year (non patient facing) please get in touch to discuss roles.
