The UK faces growing risks from climate and nature breakdown - from extreme weather to economic disruption and national security threats. Yet the public has never been given a clear national briefing on the scale of these risks. Government should hold an emergency briefing from leading experts.

Farm Access Update

From Monday 12th October, surfacing works will be taking place on the main track into Chesworth Farm from the Queensway entrance to help prevent flooding and improve access for visitors. During the works, the entrance track between Jenny Bare Legs and the Depot will be fully closed on Friday 16th, but should remain passable for the rest of the week. Please keep children and dogs under close control in this area.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused while these essential improvements are carried out and thank you for your patience and understanding.

From Friday 9th October, we a contractor on site who will be carrying out maintenance work on the scrapes within Wet Meadow at the north end of the reserve. These works will involve de-silting and re-profiling the scrapes to create valuable feeding habitat for wading birds such as Common Snipe, while also providing ideal egg-laying habitat for a wide range of aquatic invertebrates. By restoring these important wetland features, we can continue to support the rich biodiversity that makes the reserve such a special place. We apologise for the disturbance from Sandpiper Hide but please feel free to go and see what is going on. The works will be completed by Monday 12th October and there is no restriction on access whilst the works are being completed.

We’re in the news! 📰

We’re delighted to see Friends of Horsham Park featured in the West Sussex County Times as we continue our fundraising efforts to help protect and enhance Horsham Park for generations to come.

A big thank you to the West Sussex County Times for featuring our work and helping us spread the word about our fundraising appeal!

Our goal is to raise £1,000 for Fields in Trust to support the vital work they do in protecting parks and green spaces for future generations.

Why does this matter?

Horsham Park spans 65 acres and is a vital green space for the local community. Without lasting protection, future development pressures could threaten its size and the space available for future generations. Supporting Fields in Trust helps safeguard parks like Horsham Park so they can continue to benefit the community for years to come.

Please consider donating to our fundraiser today:

Thank you to everyone who has already donated, supported our work and shared our message. Together, we can help protect Horsham Park for generations to come!

We are sad to inform you that our good friend and original member of Cootes Farm Community Shirley Glaysher passed away last Monday. Shirley had recently celebrated her 93rd birthday with family and friends. Shirley was an inspiration to us all, always smiling and full of positivity, a caring and generous lady who will be missed by so many whose lives she touched.
