This patch of mossy, shady grass in our garden never looks great; so this year we decided to leave it to its own devices, allowing the mosses, primroses and bluebells to establish. I did not expect to find a common orchid in bloom this weekend! 😍This would not have happened if this patch had been mowed!

Bees on the move!

I took this photo at the end of April whilst
walking the red route at the Estate.
I'm not a professional photographer, I had my camera
on auto, I just kept taking pictures until I got what I wanted.

If only I could enter this years Carbon Busters
Sustainability Photo Competition.... but I can't I'm a judge. You can though.

At the Knepp Estate, I was fortunate to capture this stork in flight just moments before it returned to its nest, where its partner and hatchling awaited. Photographed on 25 April 2026, this striking bird represents a remarkable conservation success, part of the estate’s pioneering efforts to reintroduce a species absent from the UK for over 600 years.
