The community came together on a sunny afternoon last Saturday at the Strawberry Fair to celebrate that Plumpton is a great place to live. Many of the local organisations ran stalls who promoted their varying interests to residents across the spectrum of new and those who have been lucky enough to have lived here all their lives. For the first time we had Maestro Jazz Orchestra who did a superb set on the bandstand along with Plumpton favourites Wings Youth Theatre Group and Paddy Philips. The Turning Pointe dancers and the Hospice Support Group delighted the crowds to end the fair. Strawberries dominated the afternoon with cream teas and strawberries and cream being served from the kitchen team and punnets of strawberries were on sale.

A great time was had by all and if you missed it, please do come along to the village green next June to understand what a great village we have. See a selection of photos taken on the afternoon.

Lost property: a straw hat and sunglasses in a spec savers case. Contact us if they are yours.

Plumpton Village Society is on a mission to preserve a cherished collection of over 200 historic postcards and pictures of Plumpton and East Chiltington. These precious mementos were lovingly gathered by Ken Beard who had a deep affection for our villages and sadly passed away in early 2024. His wish was for these treasures to remain together and be available to all within the village, ensuring that future generations can appreciate the rich history they depict.
