It’s Repair Café time again! We had a really good month in May, we had 27 items in for repair, some people bringing in more than one item. Weirdly, we had three sewing machines to fix - all successful. So, if you have something that needs a little TLC, or some long serving item that’s finally given up the ghost, bring it along Saturday 20th June.
Community Use Bldg, School Lane, Honiton (opp Leisure Centre). From 9.15 to 12pm

We had a really good month in April, 27 Items repaired and one of our best months for contributions. In addition, we had two new repairers join us! which brings us up to 10, plus our two ladies who deal with fabric repairs.
Our next event is Saturday 17th at the Community Use building in School Lane, Honiton. So if you need something fixing, bring it along.

Our next event is tomorrow and we're getting more enquiries about what kind of items we can fix. Usually we ask people the nature of the problem and usually it's something we can handle - and it gives a bit of notice so we can bring the right tools.

I never fail to amazed at the stuff we get to fix. I have seen one of these before, sheer genius. It's a toy projector, sort of stop-motion. It uses a film strip which has five rows of images in 20 or 30 columns. As you turn the handle each frame in the column is projected in turn, after the top frame has been shown, it moves sideways to the next column. This means you can see a 'film' of about 100 frames of 'moving' images. Fabulous!

Next event is Saturday 21st, 9.15 to 12 noon. School Lane, Honiton (opp leisure centre). If you can get it in the door, we'll try and fix it.

Here's a photo, we had to replace the rechargeable battery in a couple of these for a lady. (the battery is under the pc board. Bit fiddly, well very fiddly actually, but all good.

Saturday 15th is the last Repair Cafe event this year, (back in Jan). So don't delay, bring your broken, much loved - but distressed stuff in for us to fix. Last month we fixed a motorised, reclinng chair - much to the relief of the lady who's disabled father depended on it. She was thrilled.
We can now also offer PAT testing for electrical equipment. So make a note in your diary and bring your stuff along on Saturday morning.

Good news! Honiton Repair Cafe, we're back, on Saturday.

We've also got a PAT tester, so we can offer a bit of reassurance for electrical items.

We repair small electricals, mechanical stuff, furniture, kids toys - even clothing repairs. If you can get it through the door, we'll try and fix it.

So if you want to give some TLC to a cherished item, or want to save money, bring it along and we'll try to fix it for free! (but we wouldn't mind a donation).

Saturday 18th Oct 9.15-12.00, CUB bldg, School Lane Honiton (opp leisure cntr).
