May Friendship Club

We have been lucky enough to celebrate David's 80th and Doreen's 90th birthdays this month with cards, gifts, balloons, banners, themed quizzes and music! We hope you enjoyed your special mornings as much as we did.

Along with those celebrations we've had our normal Tai Chi session, Katy Foster pottery back so that we could paint our masterpieces from the month before, decoupaged plant pots ready for our busy lizzies and of course the usual quizzes, bingo and raffle.

We would also like to thank Greggs in Honiton for their kind donations again this month along with the Kitchen at Combe for their very generous monthly cake donation too.

A special 'thank you' needs to go to our amazing volunteers who make our Friendship Club run smoothly and with a welcoming smile on their faces. They are Diane, Geraldine, Julie, Lisa, Jess, Tim and Paul. We could not run our club without you - so 'thank you'.

As always a very busy, but a very lovely time was had by all.

Friendship Club - April

We were introduced to pottery this month!

We started with our normal Tai Chi (thank you Christine Laws). We then got our hands a little mucky but had lots of fun and laughter doing pottery with Foster Ceramics, look at the concentration! We are looking forward to painting these next month.

We were treated to some excellent young musicians via Villages in Action who sang some of our favourite songs, we loved joining in and singing along too.

Finally, last Tuesday of the month means bingo for fun, our monthly raffle draw along with some chair Pilates too!

March has been such a busy month for the Friendship Club!

We would firstly like to say that we are extremely grateful to The Gibbons Family Trust for their generous grant which means that from now and for as long as it is feasible our Friendship Club will be FREE. With only transport costs needing to be covered. Making our club accessible to all has always been the main aim and with this grant, it is now possible which is amazing news!

We have also had our regular Tai Chi with Christine and Charlie from OJ Gyms slots along with talks from Jane at Everys Solicitors on Wills and Powers of Attorney and Nick from Parkinsons UK, who gave us a really informative talk about the signs to look for and the help which is available.

We've made flowers, Easter cards and enjoyed our Easter raffle with very kindly donated contributions from Tesco in Honiton.

Lucky enough to have received delicious cakes from The Kitchen @ Combe and savouries from Greggs in Honiton.

Phew! We have been busy!

This week at our Friendship Hub it was The Kitchen @ Combe cake week, we were treated to the most delicious chocolate cake which was enjoyed by all.

A huge 'thank you' to The Kitchen at Combe for providing us with amazing monthly cakes it really is appreciated by everyone.

Tuesday 10th February.
Friendship Hub was full of love this morning, we decorated hearts in our own individual way, talked about our first dates/special memories, enjoyed a ‘love’ themed quiz and as always very much enjoyed our Tai Chi session with Christine too!

A huge thank you to everyone who supports us, Tesco - Honiton, The Kitchen at Combe Garden Centre, Charlie from OJ Gyms in Honiton, Christine Law’s - Tai Chi, Devonvale Bakery, Toast, Iceland - Honiton, and of course our wonderful volunteers! We couldn’t do it without your support so thank you for helping those in our wonderful community.
