Hereford Mountain Club Hillwalking and mountaineering club in Herefordshire We are a group of like-minded people who enjoy the hills and mountains of Britain and Europe.

Fabulous walk in the Radnor Forest area…. Actually dry for a change but a tad wet under foot with multiple river crossings! We went up Davy Morgan Di**le, across the top to Cross D**e and looped round to Llan-Evan Di**le. With a return via a bridleway past Pwll-y- Gaseg and a quick visit of “break its neck” waterfall…about 11.5 miles…

Fabulous celebratory weekend for the annual Burns meet….an intrepid hike on the Saturday into the depths of the wild countryside with missing paths, broken bridges, slippery slopes, the fording of streams…followed by a shorter hike the following day to Cynghordy viaduct which was a little tamer and brighter with the weather…which all made for a memorable weekend…

A steady ascent via Y Grib up to Waun Fach, the highest point in the Black mountains, with the worst of the weather up on the tops before settling when down in the valleys. We continued around to Pen Trumau and Castell Dinas hill fort.

Made the most of a rather wet day with a circular walk from Monmouth up to the Kymin for a view. Along Offas D**e and up in to the forest through Knockalls Inclosure. Returning via Biblins bridge to Monmouth along the river. Pretty soggy but some shelter amongst the trees. The rest of the club are away in Tuscany for some walking in no doubt sunnier conditions…
