LOZ 💛💛💛
Lauren affectionately known as 'Loz' by family and friends was an extraordinary daughter, sister, godmother and young lady. A girl who loved life with a reputation for partying hard, but a loyal and passionate friend to all who knew her. Lauren was diagnosed with a treatable but not curable Sarcoma in September 2014. This started a five year battle with this dreadful disease, during which
Lauren never complained or let it get her down. Instead she took her family and friends on a wild roller coaster of a ride for the next 5 years, until Lauren sadly passed away on June 26th 2019. During these 5 years Lauren embarked on numerous charity raising events with her beloved motorcycle club, League of Zeal and raised over £90,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust. Intent to carry on Lauren's memory and her desire to help others, family and friends formed Lauren's Legacy in 2019. A charity to directly help teenagers, young adults and their families going through cancer treatments by granting wishes. This may involve a family holiday, concert tickets to see their favourite band, sports events, a phone or laptop. These are just some of the things we have provided. In 2022 we reached our fundraising aim of purchasing a holiday villa on the Ashbourne Heights holiday park situated in Ashbourne, Derbyshire. The villa provided short breaks and holidays for teenagers, young adults and their families to spend quality time away from the hospital environment. This proved to be extremely popular so in May 2024, we upgraded to a lodge on the same site. The lodge is a spacious home from home where families can relax and enjoy quality time together. So far we have provided breaks for in excess of 45 families. We are still very busy with our gifting and during Covid provided numerous laptops and iPads to patients who were in hospital and were unable to have visitors. These proved to be invaluable for them to be able to keep in touch with their families and friends. In January 2025 we have just given out our 180th gift! The charity does not have any employees, wages costs or admin costs and is run completely on a voluntary basis by it's trustees. We welcome anyone who would like to get involved with our fundraising or would like to make a donation and we can be contacted through this page. Finally, thank you Lauren for having such a positive impact on all our lives and leaving us with such great memories. Love you forever sweetheart # # #
