In partnership with OurFamilyWizard, NACCC offers a FREE Parenting Plan Template - a practical resource designed to support co-parenting and help families navigate life following separation.

During , NACCC is showcasing a series of posts to raise awareness of family mediation and to support separated parents and the professionals who work alongside them - sharing practical resources that help reduce conflict and keep children’s needs central throughout.

✨ In this post, we’re highlighting the importance of Parenting Plans ✨

In collaboration with OurFamilyWizard, NACCC developed a Parenting Plan Template to provide clear information and guidance on a range of topics, helping separated parents navigate co-parenting more effectively.

NACCC CEO, Elizabeth Coe, said:

“Family breakdown can be deeply distressing for everyone involved, but especially for children and young people. Communication is key, and NACCC’s Parenting Plan is a useful tool which encourages respectful communication between both parents.”

With a focus on the wellbeing and future of the child(ren) involved, the Parenting Plan Template is a FREE resource that supports parents to agree practical arrangements, manage co-parenting more confidently, and help avoid unnecessary conflict.

📣 Next week is Family Mediation Week, taking place from 26th – 30th Jan.

Run by Family Mediation Council (FMC) the week aims to help raise awareness of family mediation and the important role mediation plays in supporting families navigating divorce/separation.

During the week FMC will be hosting a series of FREE webinars specifically aimed at supporting:

✅ the public, with speakers including Deidre Sanders, agony aunt on ITV's 'This Morning'
✅ lawyers (events focused on children's voices, trauma informed practice, hybrid mediation, tools to help participants, and tips for supporting clients through mediation)
✅ mediators (how to work with interpreters, kinship mediation where children live with family members, managing high conflict behaviours, supporting neurodiverse clients, and working with military families) and
✅ others working with separating families (teachers, Sharia councils, Local Family Justice Board members).

New resource for young people affected by family separation 🌐

We wanted to share information about Split Happens a new free digital support platform for young people aged 13–30 whose parents have separated.

Created by amicable in partnership with youth charity Your Direction, Split Happens offers real-life stories, expert-reviewed resources, and a safeguarded AI chatbot called Yuni, designed to help young people explore questions and feelings in a safe, age-appropriate way.
