Have you seen the large yellow Florida buoy that’s now on display?

Alison smith originally came across the buoy between Silecroft and Haverigg in April 2023, and made contact with the National Marine Sanctuary Program in Florida Keys. They are part of the NOAA which is the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration.

Although they couldn’t tell Alison exactly when the buoy had been first put in the sea, they were thrilled that it had found its way 4,400 miles across the Atlantic to end up here! They wrote a press release for some of the local news outlets, including CBS News which can be found following this link:

Since then the buoy has had some incredible art work done by Millom mayor Simone Faulkner and is on display just down from the boathouse.

Last nights training was an exercise simulating the tractor and trailer with boat on board becoming stuck in deep mud, requiring a coordinated response to safely recover both vehicle and trailer

The exercise focused on the emergency contingencies and recovery procedures in place, including scene safety, assessing the situation, establishing a safe recovery plan and working together to ensure the tractor and trailer could be recovered safely.

Finishing up our Sunday celebrating surviving a successful 6 weeks, a bank holiday, and Betty’s 3rd birthday 🎈🥳

I mean the madness of the moment meant we actually forgot it was our business birthday 🙈 but a quiet moment with candles, cake and coffee was the calm we welcomed after the chaos 🥰

Thank you for an amazing season, but most of all thank you for building our business. Here’s to many more birthdays to come 🩵💙
