Last quarter of the game seen the consistent performance from Celtic and the confidence of the players carry on, scoring another 2 goals to cap off a really positive performance from the team

The Ulverston Hospital Cup kicked off for our U12 Lions against Vickerstown U12s as the Lions were keen to stamp their authority as defending champions 🏆
The Lions battled against the wind in the 1st half, which made moving the ball difficult. High balls over the top from Vickerstown also made defending difficult as the Lions had to pay strong attention to the bounce of the ball. Great movement and through balls meant that the Lions came through the half on top. The Lions had the conditions in their favour in the 2nd half and it showed as they put in a dominant performance to progress to the next round of the cup 🏆

Player of the match went to Sonny who was dangerous out on the left wing. He constantly put balls into the box for teammates and battled hard to win possession, helping himself to assists and goals 🔥🏆

A big thank you goes to all the parents and coaches for their support and for creating such a positive environment for the kids to enjoy their football. Also to Luis our league appointed ref for the game 👏

Finally an even bigger thankyou goes to our sponsors:

🏆 Match Report: Barrow Celtic Tigers U11s vs. Crooklands Casuals Oranges U11s

Boyd Park played host to a great cup fixture as Barrow Celtic Tigers U11s welcomed a strong and well-established Crooklands Casuals Oranges U11s side.

Despite the dry weather, strong winds added an extra layer of challenge to an already demanding match.

From the opening whistle, Crooklands pressed high with a relentless attack, testing the Tigers' backline time and after time. Celtic showed fantastic discipline and structure to stay tight at the back. When Crooklands did manage to breach the defense, Archie was in inspired form between the posts, making a series of heroic saves to keep the Tigers firmly in the tie.

After prolonged pressure and resilient defending, Crooklands finally found the breakthrough just before the end of the first quarter.
The second quarter followed a similar pattern, with Crooklands playing sharp attacking football. The Tigers were forced to sit deeper and soak up wave after wave of attack, but their team spirit never wavered.

Fighting Back with Pride
Despite facing a formidable opponent, Celtic refused to let their heads drop. Their persistence and work ethic paid off when a swift move forward found Aiden, who finished emphatically to bring the Tigers a thoroughly deserved goal—adding another fine strike to his tally for the season!

While the result means the Tigers exit the cup, the performance was one to be proud of. Every player left everything on the pitch, earning high praise from both coaches and parents alike. The team will take invaluable lessons from the match, hold their heads high, and come back even stronger for the rest of the season.

Player of the Match today was Archie for a standout performance between the sticks!

Archie produced a string of sensational saves particularly in the opening quarter to keep his team fighting and in the game throughout.

A brilliant display in goal. Well done, Archie!

Looking Ahead
Well done to all of our Tigers we are immensely proud of your grit, determination, and sportsmanship!

We also extend our best wishes to Crooklands Casuals Oranges U11s as they advance to the next round of the cup.

With plenty of football still ahead this season, the Tigers can't wait to get back out on the pitch for the next challenge! ⚽🐯

A huge thank you to our team sponsor, GO-RRITO, for your continued support!

⚽ BARROW CELTIC JUNIORS UNDER 10 vs HAWCOAT THUNDER UNDER 10 ⚽

A brilliant comeback from the Celtic boys! 💚🤍

After a slow start in windy conditions, Celtic found themselves a couple of goals behind within the opening few minutes. However, the lads showed great character and determination to battle their way back into the game, going into half-time just one goal behind.

The second half was a completely different story! 🔥 Celtic came out showing the quality and fantastic football we have seen from them so far this season. With three great goals, the lads turned the game around to take the lead and put themselves in control.

Just as impressive was the defensive performance, with Celtic refusing to give Hawcoat Thunder a way back into the game and keeping a clean sheet in the second half.

A fantastic team performance, showing resilience, belief and the ability to fight back when things don’t go our way. The boys should be incredibly proud of how they responded after a difficult start.

Another great example of the progress this team is making! Hard work beats talent 👏⚽

Captain for the day Leighton 💪🏻

Coaches player of the match Isaac grabbed a few goals and a assist 💪🏻👏🏻👏🏻

**Full Time: Tigers 4–1 Lions** 🐯

A derby day clash in the Ulverston Hospital Cup saw the Tigers take on our fellow Barrow Celtic side, the Lions, in what was a fantastic and competitive game of football.

Both teams started brightly, playing some great football and creating chances. The Tigers took the lead through a **fantastic strike from Archie Cairns**, putting us 1–0 ahead.

The Lions responded well and found an equaliser with a well-taken shot to make it 1–1, setting up an exciting contest.

The Tigers regained the lead through **Kobi Seward**, who finished off a great move, assisted by Noah Knowles, to make it 2–1.

With confidence growing, **Noah Knowles** added a third for the Tigers before grabbing his second of the game to put us 4–1 ahead and seal the victory.

A fantastic performance from both teams, with plenty of quality football, determination and team spirit on display. The Lions made it a really competitive derby, and both sides deserve huge credit for the way they approached the game.

🏆 **Coaches' Player of the Match – Archie Cairns** 🏆

A brilliant performance from Archie, who was a real leader on the pitch throughout the game. Always encouraging his teammates, driving the team forward and leading by example, Archie capped off his performance with a fantastic goal. Well deserved!

On Saturday our U12 Lions faced their toughest opponents of the season so far as they hosted Heathwaite U12s. The Lions have only played Heathwaite in short tournament matches so it was good to finally get to play tjem over 60mins.
As expected Heathwaite were determined and well drilled, however it was the Lions who came out on top after a close finish to the game.

Player of the match went to Caleb following a solid display as center back. He was alert to Heathwaites attacks and and was quick to start attacks for the Lions, even bagging himself an assist 👌🏆

A big thank you goes to all the parents and coaches for their support and for creating such a positive environment for the kids to enjoy their football. Also to Harry our league appointed ref for the game.

Finally an even bigger thankyou goes to our sponsors:
