SAFA Chair Ian and SAFA CEO Cindy met Shirley Fawcett, the new High Sheriff of Cumbria, in our Kendal rooms this week. Ian said “We had a really positive and wide ranging discussion with Shirley who was really interested in our charity and the well-being challenges people in our community are facing. Shirley has worked with a Domestic Abuse charity for many years and there were many parallels evident. We would like to thank Shirley for her time and her genuine interest in us and the enviornment we operate in and we look forward to working with her during her tenure”

Our chair Ian attended a funders strategy day in London today with Global Make Some Noise team. More to follow on this but Ian said it was a great day with some excellent information, advice and best practice sharing for charities, and the opportunity to meet other charity representatives from across the UK was a powerful experience. Thank you to the whole Make Some Noise team for an excellent day 👍

💙 🩷 I don't know how to help my child..."

You don't have to have all the answers.
Many children and young people struggling with emotional wellbeing do not always tell people how they are feeling. Sometimes it can look like withdrawal, anxiety, anger, changes in behaviour, missing school, low confidence, eating difficulties, or harmful coping behaviours.
SAFA provides free, confidential support for individuals affected by self-harm and emotional distress, along with support for families and carers too.
Because supporting someone else can feel overwhelming when you're trying to hold everything together yourself.

You are not alone.
