We can’t wait to show you all the fantastic local crafts and makers taking part. We are also running mini makes, 30 minute workshops, for a creative break in between the browsing.

There are still a few spaces available in the final block of our Continuing Learning Ceramics Course! Our last term begins on 3 November.

Come and explore the wonderfully therapeutic process of working with clay, getting your hands dirty and creating something beautiful from nothing.

Over five weeks, you’ll make your own ceramics just in time for the festive season — perfect as thoughtful, handmade gifts for loved ones, or little treasures to keep for yourself if you fall in love with the process!

Ceramics
With Kelly Ottesen
Led by resident maker Kelly Ottesen, our Ceramics Courses take you on an exploratory journey through the world of ceramics. You'll learn a range of technical and experimental processes, developing your skills while creating something new each week.

Kelly will guide you through a different project each week, with opportunities to glaze and fire your work throughout the process.

Spend two hours getting completely absorbed in making. Bring a friend and share the experience, or simply enjoy some creative time for yourself. There’s something incredibly rewarding about transforming a simple ball of clay into a beautiful piece of pottery.

Ceramics courses take place on:

There is one final block of our Continued Learning Craft Courses this year. Which means one more chance to try something new for 5 weeks. Our last term begins on 3 November. These courses are a brilliant way to develop skills, experiment with materials and processes and also have lots of fun during these weekly two hour sessions! Why not while away the winter days doing something creative.

If you have ever wanted to make your own jewellery or would like to make someone a piece they will cherish then our jewellery course could be the perfect fit.

Jewellery
With Sharon Justice
Learn how to make your own bespoke jewellery with resident jeweller Sharon Justice. This course is perfect for beginners looking to learn the fundamentals of silversmithing, from soldering, sawing, annealing and polishing through to turning your own ideas into beautiful pieces of jewellery.

Please note: if you are a complete beginner, you will first need to book a 1:1 induction with Sharon. This will give you the opportunity to learn the basics before joining the Jewellery Course.

Have a go at embossing a festive fruit design onto sheet metal to create your very own unique tree ornament. This process is simple, satisfying but surprisingly effective! A plush velvet ribbon adds the perfect finishing touch on a decoration you can treasure at home.

Our makers have been out in the world busy excelling with their creative ventures and we are so proud of them.

Ami, our brilliant Programme manager is hosting a fantastic wedding fair this weekend! 17 & 18 October at Larmer Tree. An amazing event filled with inspiring local businesses, creative & exciting ideas, curated suppliers and space, inclusive atmosphere, entertainment and more! Check out her page to find out more

Kelly, our fantastic technician and ceramics tutor has been working hard to create handmade baubles just in time for Christmas. They are stunning and will be available to buy at New Ashgate Gallery and Oxmarket Gallery.

Sue, our wonderful resident artist who paints beautiful watercolours is exhibiting as part of an art fair at Landmark Arts Centre 16th-18th October and she will be setting up at the Hampshire Artists Exhibition at Stockbridge Town Hall. this exhibition runs from Friday 16th to Sunday 25th October and is open 10 - 5. A fantastic chance to see her amazing work!

This month's Craft Community is Air Dry Clay Ornaments and Decorations. A great workshop to see the potential of clay.

Fancy having a go at working with clay without needing to fire? Air Dry Clay is a great way to get into ceramics. We will be making decorative items for your home. Come and join us in making some lovely things.

Craft Community is a creative club for adults where participants learn new craft skills and techniques and work on creative projects. An opportunity to enjoy making in a relaxed informal group, meet new people, discover more about creativity and what they enjoy creating.
