If you’ve got a glut - share with those who need it.

Do you have surplus fruit or veg on your allotments or in your garden? 🫐🥕🍅

If you do, please let us know as we can help with getting this to the Havant food support organisations - Pantries and Foodbanks 👏

It’s not just plants that need water in a drought!

🌱☀️ Summer is the perfect time for composting!

Keep your compost bin thriving during warmer weather with these simple tips:

💧 Check moisture levels regularly. Compost can dry out in hot weather, so add a little water if needed. Aim for damp, not soggy.

🍂 Balance green and brown materials. Mix grass cuttings and peelings with cardboard, paper and dry leaves for healthy compost.

🔄 Turn your compost regularly. This adds oxygen and helps distribute moisture evenly.

🌤️ Give it some shade. If possible, position your compost bin out of full sun to help prevent it drying out.

Cool hub in Havant

Havant Cool hub!

Our doors will be open tomorrow 9am — 5pm for anybody who wants to relax in an air conditioned environment for a while.

Plenty of sofa’s and chairs to sit on.

We have lots of bottles of water.

No pressure to buy anything or shop, we just want to make the most of the facilities we have and share them with our community - trying to ensure comfort during a very uncomfortable period!!

Well done - this is so needed!
Anyone volunteering to do something similar in Havant?

☀️ With the hot weather continuing over the next two days, we'd like to offer a cool and welcoming space for our local community.

If you need somewhere to escape the heat, please feel free to come in, sit down, and cool off—there is absolutely no obligation to buy anything. We understand that not everyone has access to a comfortable, cool environment at home, and we want to help where we can.

Please help us spread the word, especially to neighbours, friends, family members, and vulnerable people who may not see this post on social media.

Stay safe, stay hydrated, and look after one another, as well as your pets. 💙
