Heeeeyyyyyyy 👋 It’s me, Jasper!

I’m in a foster home in Havant. I’m 4 years old. I love to play and climb. I like playing with toys and running on the cat wheel.

I love sunbathing on the windowsill. I’m a sweet boy and I enjoy sitting beside my human.

I would really like have access outside so a garden is important for me. I would like to be the only cat in my home but I have lived with polite dogs before.

4 year old Jasper is an active boy who loves to play. He enjoys climbing, playing with toys and using his cat wheel.

He loves sunbathing on the windowsill. He’s a sweet boy who enjoys sitting beside his human.

Defra is changing the exemption scheme conditions for banned breed type dogs under Section 1 of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 (incl the XL Bully and the Pit Bull Terrier) and a link to their updated Guidance is below. In summary the changes are:-

1. To remove the requirement to have third party liability insurance for exempted Section 1 dogs from 1st July 2026

2. To impose a new legal duty on all keepers of exempted Section 1 dogs from 1st November 2026, to not allow a child under 12 years to be left in close proximity to the dog in a private place without adult supervision (more detail on definitions will be contained in the Statutory Instrument itself which at the time of writing has not been published)

However, still nothing has been said about how to remove a dog from the Index of Exempted Dogs and their Guidance continues to say that more information will be provided on this "soon".
