Hi as promised more details about how we spend the money we raise.
Project 4. Make a difference fund.
This is a project where we work together with professionals such as Schools, food bank leaders, doctors surgeries, social prescribers etc to to use our contacts and some of the money raised to help solve problems. Sometimes a little money well targeted can as it says make a difference.
The fund is not directly open to direct applicants and we only work with professionals. We fully understand confidentiality so I won't mention individual cases. However, quietly in the background together with the professionals we have been able to help find solutions that have genuinely made a difference to families in our area.
That help is only available because of the monies that we raise at Christmas. Thank you for all your support.

As promised Project 3. Feed Havant
Havant Rotary runs Feed Havant which is a dedicated project to support all of the Food Banks in the Havant Borough area, including Leigh Park, Hayling Island, Havant, Waterlooville, Emsworth.
We have regular collections at major supermarkets of both cash and food which we pass onto the Food Banks. Our Food Banks do an amazing job and helping people that are in genuine need. Sadly at a time that demand for help is almost at record levels donations are going down.
As part of Feed Havant we also work with local businesses with our take a can to work scheme which encourages staff at businesses to bring in a can to work and we collect these on a regular basis and distribute to the food banks on a regular basis.
At Christmas we were able to pass on over 750 toys that had been donated to us to distribute to the food banks.
Because we work with all the food banks we are able to ensure that the donations that are given to us end up where the need is greatest at any time.

Hi as promised here is project 2: Bleed Control Kits
In the event of an emergency where there is a catastrophic loss of blood from a stabbing, glass cut or road accident etc, every second counts. Ambulance arrival national target times for a category 1 callout, which is the most serious category, where loss of life is a real danger is 7 minutes. In our area the actual arrival times being achieved are significantly longer, increasing a real risk to life.
Working with the Daniel Baird Foundation, Havant Rotary is working to make available as widely as possible, a bleed control pack. This vital piece of emergency equipment is designed to help save lives in the event of a serious injury or incident. Major blood loss reduces the chances of survival significantly. The pack contains equipment that can stop bleeding and buy time for the ambulance services to arrive.
We have started by donating packs to senior schools and some commercial premises in the area with a larger and wider distribution being planned.
The funds raised this Christmas will help us to get more packs into the community as fast as possible.
If you are interested in sponsoring a pack let us know.

Hi as promised this is the first of few posts setting out what we do with the money that we raise.
Project 1. Easter Eggs
Last year we purchased 108 Large 2kg Easter Eggs and we donated them to schools, food banks, scouts, guides, Pubs, charities, the Rowans, projects and various supporters of charities. Most recipients raffled their eggs and together they raised just over £25,500 for their causes. All the money raised they keep or donate to their chosen charities.
It's a great way of making the money go further and who doesn't love chocolate. The Easter egg project will return in the spring.

Hi I just wanted to say thanks to everybody who came to see our sleigh this year and I am pleases to be able to let everyone know the Christmas sleigh raised £3,154 which will be used to support our local charities.
The poor wet weather made it a difficult year and caused several cancellations. Sometimes we got those decisions right and sometimes wrong but for the right reasons.
We are so grateful for our excellent volunteers who made such a difference this year.
I always the sleigh as yes it raises some money but I think the value is so much more as a community event and some fun for families.
Thanks for all the help this year.
I am going to add a few posts over the next few days explaining what we do with the money we raise.

We are incredibly grateful to the Havant Rotary Club for their generous donation of Bleed Control Packs to Purbrook Park School.

Graham Smith and Cameron Nightingale from the Havant Rotary Club visited the Headteacher, Mr Foxley earlier this year, to explain about this initiative in conjunction with the Daniel Baird Foundation.

This vital piece of emergency equipment is designed to help save lives in the event of a serious injury or incident. While we hope it's never needed, having it on-site provides an extra layer of protection and reassurance for our pupils, staff, and the wider community.

Zowie Robson, our School Nurse is pictured with Trevor Nightingale of the Havant Rotary Club taking delivery of the Bleed Control Packs today

Community support like this makes a real difference, and Purbrook Park School is proud to work alongside organisations who care deeply about the safety and wellbeing of young people.

Thank you again to Havant Rotary Club for your continued support!

Congratulations well done

Exciting Results from our 2025 Easter Egg project.
The first 25 results have now been received and the charities and projects that we donated eggs to, are raising a lot of money. We will provide a full list of results later but the funds that they are raising will make a difference to them all.
Thanks to everyone who bought tickets and I hope the winners of the raffles enjoy their chocolate.
Congratulations to everyone who has raised money. We are looking forward to seeing the final results.

Congratulations to Mad Inclusion Discos who did well with the easter egg we donated.
