Just a little update for those who have kindly been following along and asking how things are going.
I’m under no illusion that my health updates are the highlight of everyone’s social media feed 😆 but it’s the easiest way to keep people who are interested up to date without having to remember who I’ve told what!
The surgery is done and dusted! I was awake within minutes of coming round and back home by 3pm.
Everything seems to have gone seamlessly, unlike my arm, which I can only imagine now has a rather large seam running down it underneath the dressing! 😆
In all seriousness, I’m feeling relieved to have this stage behind me. The surgeon removed the melanoma site, the additional moles and the lymph node for testing, so now begins the waiting game while everything is sent away for results.
I’ve been firmly instructed not to lift anything and to get plenty of rest for a while. Anyone who knows me will know that taking things easy doesn’t come naturally, but I’ll do my best to behave myself and give my body the chance to heal properly.
I also wanted to say a huge thank you for all the comments, messages, cards, flowers, gifts and care packages. I honestly don’t think I can put into words how much it means to feel so surrounded by love, friendship, family and community.
Right now, there isn’t much I can do other than rest, heal and wait, and all of your kindness has been the perfect tonic. It has lifted my spirits more than you know.
For now, it’s time for a little R&R and a chance to let the healing begin. ❤️
