Who are Duchy Care?

We are a small Harrogate based home support agency, enabling older people to maintain independence at home and to continue doing the things they love with the support needed. We are a team of 8 so far, caring for clients in Harrogate. Our team are 80% retired nurses, we are local, mature and experienced.

I set up Duchy Care in 2022 with the intent of providing excellent companionship care for people of Harrogate, the care I would want my Mum & Dad to have. Small enough to be reponsive and family run, established enough to be professional.

We are often the first call when something doesn't feel quite right with a loved one, but "care" isn't required. We are referred by GPs and other local professionals, and word of mouth. We help give reassurance to families that are worried about Mum/Dad but can't be there as much as they would like.

We are a preventative first measure, reducing risk and isolation, increasing connection, friendship and happiness.

We are a bespoke care team, and do a variety of different things, from dance/singing groups, out walking, pub lunches and even table tennis. But ultimately it is giving friendship, helping people feel seen and heard, helping people feel happier - and we all benefit from that.
