Follifoot Park Disabled Riders Group We are an independent charity providing riding and carriage driving for disabled children and adults

The Group was originally formed in 1986 and became an independent charity in 1994. Julie Pedley, the owner of Follifoot Park Riding Centre, and our founding Chairman, Rosie Towers, wanted to offer disabled riders the unique benefits of horse riding so Rosie decided to recruit the necessary helpers. Thanks to her dedicated efforts we now have 150 volunteers who help to provide 17 regular Rides each

week in groups of up to seven disabled people. During the past 26 years, hundreds of riders, young and adult, have enjoyed this opportunity. Our continuing aim is to provide more opportunities for disabled people to enjoy the unique benefits and pleasures of riding and carriage driving with us.

We know that Sycamore, Oak, Yew and Laburnum are poisonous for horses, there may be others, so please keep the label on any saplings and the Woodland Trust should be able to advise on any others that are suitable. They can be left by the lecture room or barn and will be gratefully received! Thank you.

What a fantastic day for the gymkhana🏆Thank you so much to all the volunteers who worked really hard to make this event a success yet again, it’s a massive team effort 👏👏. We were too busy taking and printing photos for the riders to take home with them so we haven’t even got one to show you of a horse 🤣. If any riders would like to share their photos in the comments we’d love to see them and thank you for coming today!

A huge thank you to Debbie Sudlow, one of our volunteers, who has raised over £7000 for our group through a 60th birthday fundraiser! That’s an epic amount and every penny will go towards running our rides and carriage.
