We are delighted to announce we will be presenting a brand new award at the Great Yorkshire Show. We are looking for "the best Young Farmer" - open to Intermediate and Senior members (aged 17-28) from Yorkshire.

The award has been introduced by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society in collaboration with the Yorkshire Federation of Young Farmers' Clubs, with the support of Baroness Anne McIntosh of Pickering.

Three finalists will be invited to the Show where an overall winner will be announced on Friday 17 July and will receive a £250 prize.

IMPORTANT:
🚌If your club is taking a bus to the event - can you please let us know as soon as possible to inform the hosts.
📋The TOW coaches must have their DBS number and evidence of their completed e-safeguarding course at the weigh-in.
🎁Industrial section/Make & Takes (Section 3) - Anyone can stage exhibits but must have the name and membership number etc. to hand of the member they are staging for (and complete the exhibition card). Beth, the Chief Steward of Section 3 will be available to help.
🍔Food Trailer available – serving food all day.
🍭A tuck shop which can be found in the catering shed - cash only.
💷Cash only for refreshments.
💧Water stations will be available for refilling bottles etc.
🍺Over 18's - The Bar will be open at 2.00pm - 7.30pm located in the Stage Shed. The members of Northumberland are then organising a pub crawl around Berwick, meeting at the Castle Hotel at around 8pm.

Reminder – things to bring with you on the day:
📱Digital Membership Card (please download your card and screenshot it before the day).
🪪Under 18's a signed parental consent form.
🪪Over 18's a second form of ID.
📋Driving Licence for driving classes
✂️Sheep clippers and Blue Seal Certificates for sheep shearing competitors.
🥼🥾🖋️White coat, clean boots and a pen.
👕Team Colours and a towel – just in case!
🎁Section 3 Exhibits – double check the rules before you set off from home!
⚒️Hand tools, gloves and goggles for the pallet challenge.
🌞Come prepared with suncream and plenty of fluids to keep you hydrated.
💚Yorkshire grit and determination!

For those Young Farmers who live in rural and farming communities, there's so much to celebrate. Not least by being a member of a Young Farmers' Club.

As YFC AGRI Chair this year, Nathan Greenwood is passionate about ensuring the next generation of farmers' voices are heard. Nathan's home club Worth Valley Yfc in Yorkshire Young Farmers is on the urban fringe of a number of towns and is often the first introduction to agriculture for many members from a non-farming background.

“Our role is to ensure that members’ voices, needs, and interests are heard in all corners of an industry that I know many of them will go on to have great and fulfilling careers in,” said Nathan about the steering group.

Well done to the YFC AGRI group for all the work they do on behalf of YFC members.

💻After a lot of background work from the Promotions and Skills Committee and a generous grant from YPTC which we are extremely grateful for...... drum roll please... we are delighted to annouce our new website has finally gone live!

🌐As with any new website we are expecting some minor issues or glitches - please do not hesitate to contact County Office if you notice something is not performing correctly.

💚The competitions pages for 2026/2027 will be populated once we have confirmed the rules and entry forms.
