Last weekend The Guardian published a list of readers' top 100 novels of all time following on from the recent list chosen by authors, critics and academics worldwide.

We've collected together a large number of titles from the readers' list in a new window display so do come down for a browse at 5, Harding Parade and choose your next read!

Today is the last day of Volunteers' Week 2026 and here at our two Oxfam Harpenden shops we've been celebrating all of our fabulous volunteers plus of course eating lots of cake in the process!

Our shops simply couldn't function without our brilliant volunteers who accept, sort, price and display your generous donations or work on our shop floor...Thank you so much to all of you for giving up your time for Oxfam!

Another week, another fabulous re-stock of our children's books department here at Oxfam Books & Music Harpenden! We've got plenty of Tom Gates, Wimpy Kid and Usborne Books plus lots of beautiful picture books including some lovely titles for animal lovers...Come for a browse this weekend!

We're open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 3pm on Sundays.
