Incredible news!

We've been awarded match funding ⭐

Thanks to the generosity of The Reed Foundation, through the Big Give, every donation to our very special Christmas campaign will be doubled*!

This means any donation you make to from 1 - 8 December could go twice as far in supporting local adults with learning disabilities.

And there's more! We've recorded an exclusive interview with Penny and her father John, who share their story and what Harpenden Mencap means to them.

Our friends at Waterways Experiences host fantastic residential holidays on the Grand Union Canal for young people with special needs aged 14 - 25.

Every summer, we do something extra special at Waterways Experiences! 💙Alongside our regular day trips, we run our very special Enable residential holidays for small groups of young people aged 14–25 with a range of special needs.

🌊 Spending a full week exploring the Grand Union Canal from our Hemel Hempstead boat base, these holidays offer opportunities to try new things, build confidence and independence, make new friends and, most importantly, have fun and create lasting memories! We celebrated our wonderful volunteers on Tuesday night ⭐

Members of our community presented each volunteer and trustee with a certificate and homemade lavender bag - the lavender is from our allotment and the bags were filled by Britannia Club!

Thank you to all our dedicated trustees and volunteers who go for the people we support. We couldn't do this without you 💜

Special thanks to Harpenden Golf Club for hosting us!

Disco Night snaps ✨️

We had a fantastic Friday night!

30 people with learning disabilities, from all over the county, joined us for an inclusive evening of music and dancing. It was brilliant to see so many new faces 💜

What an incredible donation 💜

Earlier this year, the West Herts Charity Trust donated a wheelchair-accessible Ford Tourneo and funded minibus driver competency training for 8 of our Support Workers!

This means we have accessible and flexible transport options for the people we support, and a team with the skills and confidence needed to make the most of this valuable resource. It's already making a fantastic difference to our community! Having transport like this means more opportunities to get out and about, enjoy new experiences, and have greater independence.

Thank you for your generous donation and continued commitment to supporting our work.
