Adrian Ramsay, our Waveney Valley MP, joined Harleston Country Market past and present co-operative members and special invited guests in King George’s Hall this afternoon. We were celebrating our 50th Anniversary, first as a WI market and for the last 20 years as Country Markets Limited.
All 60 invitees were offered sandwiches, sausage rolls, cheese straws and a selection of scones, slices and cake. All the refreshments were made and served by market co-operative members.
Adrian Ramsay said a few words about the importance of local community initiatives like Harleston Country Market and a celebration cake was cut jointly by the oldest and newest members of the market.
