Last night we were joined by Peter Bee who told us all about his trips to Ukraine delivering humanitarian aid. 🚐
It started in 2022 after Russia invaded Ukraine and declared war. He wanted to help, so along with his neighbour he filled his van with supplies and medication and drove across Europe, passing through Germany and Poland, negotiating with border control and finding his way to Ukraine. 🇺🇦
Finding help to distribute aid proved difficult at first, but on subsequent trips he has worked alongside the Unity Hub Charitable Foundation.
He spoke about visiting orphanages and the poor conditions the children live in. Some with no heating or hot water and limited food.
He organises a Christmas shoebox appeal and delights in seeing the smiles on the children’s faces. 🎄🎁
It was a fascinating and emotional talk and we have made a donation towards his next trip.
If you’d like to help, donations can be dropped off at The Swan Hotel in Harleston. 📦
